I was in my bedroom waiting for supper to be ready. It was winter, it was dark out, but i swear i saw something. It looked like a man but it was -52 degrees outside. No one wants to be in that weather. Especially in what seemed like a cape. But what do i know? That could just be a paper bag floating around.

I wish.

But before i skip to conclusions i am gonna tell you right now, your hearing the WHOLE story.

Anyway, back to the shape. It disappeared.

For now.

"Cole! Supper is ready!"

"Alright mom! be there in a sec!"

I rushed down. I was starving. I missed breakfast and i was helping my mom do this charity thing at lunch and didn't have enough time to eat because 'time is precious when you are helping the needy'.

"Whats for supper your highness?"

"Sloppy joe, my atrocious son"

"Why how delicately put together! how gourmet!"

"Oh shut up and eat smart ass"

"Lina grab me that phone so i can call 911!"

"Oh my goodness why? Jerold is everything ok?"

Jerold was my dad and Lina was my mom just incase you were to dumb to catch on.

"Because your on fire today Lina! Very sexy!"

"My goodness Jerold you almost gave me a heart attack! I thought Al was hurt!"

My first name was Cole and my brothers middle name is Cole. My middle name is Al my brothers first name is Al. I know its confusing but its a detail you wont need for long.

"That was the point my dear!"

"Well supper is ready so unless you want spit in your sloppy joe i suggest you not doing that again"

next my brother walked in, but my parents didn't notice. And i guess they forgot i was there too.

"Its not like i don't get your spit in my mouth every other night or anything"

and at the exact same time, me and Al yelled: "EEEEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!!"

And thats when things got awkward. I mean, we all just sat down and ate our sloppy joe in silence, not even a peep awkward. But then Al finally broke the ice.

I wish he hadn't.

"So there is this snow day parade in Edmonton. Can we go?"

"Honey i am sorry but we just can't afford anything like that. Christmas takes a lot of money."

"But i have money from christmas that we could use mom! what about you dad?"

"I am going to have to agree with your mom son. Maybe next year."

"Thats what you said last year" Al mumbled.

"And besides Cole probably doesn't even want to go"

"Actually," i spoke up. Something i don't do very often. Anymore anyways. "I think it sounds pretty fun! we can take all the money we received for Christmas and go!"

"Are you boys sure thats what you want to use your money for? Your dad and i can save up fir next year"

"But mom! me and Cole both want to go this year!"

"Alright but i have one thing to say about this"

"Yea mom?"

"SHOTGUN!''

"dang! i don't want to drive!"

"Well to bad sucker!"

"Hey dad, i can drive!"

There was silence. And then we all broke into laughter. Even Al. Let me explain. See, last time Al drove the family car he was with some of his friends, and me. There was a hitch-hiker and Al's friends dared Al to pick him up. So he did. To make a long story short the hitch-hiker had a gun and stole the family car. My brother got us grounded for 2 and a half months.

"No Al i'm ok with driving"

"So when are we leaving?"

"Well Cole, when should we leave?"

Then at the exact same time Al and I shouted: "TOMORROW!!!"

"Alright alright. Jeez Lina i think our sons have telepathic abilities!"

"Totally! alright now boys go pack for, lets say a week while your father and i figure out somethings."

"Alright thanks mom thanks dad!"

"Ya thanks guys you are the best!"

So then me and Al went to our room to pack.

Let me tell you about the christmas parade. It is just a whole bunch of Christmas like floats going down a street for about an hour and a half and then at the very end is santa. I don't even know why i said i wanted to go. I hate parades. I basically like everything else but i can not STAND parades. And it is far to cold.

"Hey Cole?"

"Ya?"

"Thanks"

"For what?"

"Saying you wanted to go to the parade. I know you hate parades. And you probably think it is way to cold out. But thanks. It meant a lot to me."

"No problem."

And then he just grinned at me.
