[JAKE]

I pressed my forehead against the cool surface of the wall. I let out a low groan thinking of what she had just done.

I angrily grabbed the glass of hangover juice and stomped up the stairs. I could imagine the bastard's hands all over Victoria. I clenched my hand.

I pushed her door open and walked in. I was sure Watson had been in here.

Victoria was already laying down on the bed, running a hand down her gold nightgown. She looked up at me with wide blue eyes.

"Do you hate me?" She asked softly.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Hate you?"

She nodded. I could smell the alcohol coming off her in waves. I wrinkled my nose in disgust.

"Not hate. I'm definitely angry, don't forget that." I handed her the glass.

She sat up and took the glass from me. She grimaced before she pinched her nose and tipped the juice into her mouth. She swallowed, and I couldn't help but imagine how she would swallow my—

"That is disgusting," she gagged. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "Why the hell do you make me drink that?"

"To help you sober up." I sat down on the bed next to her. "It's your fault you keep drinking."

Victoria sighed and leaned back against the headboard. "The two times I drank were because of Amy and today I drank because of Reece."

I examined my hands. "You see? He's a bad influence."

Victoria stared intently at me. "Why don't you like him?"

He's your ex boyfriend that still likes you.

I looked away from her. "He's a rude little shit."

Victoria narrowed her eyes. "Tell me when you have a real reason." She handed me the glass before getting out of bed.

I looked up at her. "Where are you going?"

She stretched, letting out a small groan. It drew attention to the rise of her breasts as she let out a loud yawn. "Downstairs. I'm not sleepy yet." She walked softly to the door and cast me a look over her shoulder. "You coming?"

I bit my lip before standing up. "Yeah." I quickly crossed over to the door and opened it for her. "After you."

Victoria sent me a sly smile. "Why thank you." She moved gracefully to the stairs, her feet making the slightest sound against the floor. I followed her, mesmerized.

She opened the door to the music room and held it open for me. I opened my mouth to thank her but she had already moved to the piano in the middle of the room.

Victoria took a seat, closing her eyes as she grinned. She placed her fingers on the keys, but she still didn't play. When I moved closer to her, I saw her frown as she stared down at the piano.

"Mom," she whispered. "I would love to play for you again." A tear made its way down her cheek.

I blame that tear for what happened next.

I felt myself moving forward to her. What the hell are you doing? my brain screamed at me. I ignored it as I stood right behind her.

"It's okay, sweetheart," I whispered. I wrapped my arms around her waist and picked her up. I slid onto the bench, placing her on my lap.

Victoria let out a surprised gasp. "Jake—"

I smiled tightly down at her. "Everything is going to be fine."
