Nyla and Jonathon walked around the town asking for any information they could receive about the Baron. They were able to get some small details about him. The Honorable Baron was a nickname he used when he traveled incognito. He was someone who worked for the poor and rich alike--but then he started robbing the aristocrats and dumping the confiscated valuables to different towns and counties to use.
This Honorable Baron was a Robin Hood like guy, but it appeared the State was able to determine he was not someone to keep around for long.
Nyla sat at the dinner table with mixed emotions. She thought he was going to be some fat, Caucasian, old geezer who just left without a trace in the beginning but now she knew this was a guy who played both sides of the world. He worked in benefit of the State, and also in benefit with the citizens.
Jonathon brought over their meals from the deli and placed her food tray in front of her. There were different things like steamed vegetables and delectable fruits dipped in some brown coating, the sandwich she was given had been ham with swiss, and there was a brown liquid meant for dipping the bread. She stared at the food as if it was her last meal on Earth,
"You can eat it you know." Jonathon joked and he ripped a piece of his bread off so he could dip it. "You barely ate on the voyage here."
She lifted up her fork utensil and stared down at the tray. "Do I eat the steamed things or fruits first? What should I do?" She asked quite honestly. Nyla had never seen so much food in her life. Her mind must have been running a hundred miles an hour.
"Whatever you would like." He replied with a toothy smile and continued eating his bread dipped in sauce. "You could get the veggies out of the way I guess." He motioned to the steamed vegetables on her tray and she stabbed the first green and orange thing, She lifted the morsel of food to her lips and accepted it gratefully.
The mushy and strange flavors that entered her mouth were both invigorating and honestly quite disgusting. She didn't believe in wasting food so she finished it in two whole bites and stared disdainfully at the rest. She hoped it wouldn't be as plain and mushy as that.
Her whole experience trying her food left Jonathon in stitches. He laughed at her whenever she made a face, and encouraged her to try the next new thing. He didn't force her to finish the things she didn't like, and offered her his things she liked. It was all a wonderful and peculiar event for her.
Afterlunch Jonathon threw away their food and they went back to work.
