I walked upstairs for my hour of training with Angelina. For once, she wasn't wearing a dress. She was wearing black workout leggings, combat boots, and a black sports bra. Her hair was pulled back with a simple headband.
"Where's your dress?" I asked her as I tied my shoes. "You don't have some fancy workout dress or something?"
Angelina rolled her eyes, "Regardless of what clothing I wear, I can still fight better than many who attempt fighting in dresses. Are you stretched and ready?"
"Yep," I sighed as I walked to the center mat. "Alright, what are we training for today?"
Angelina's arm extended and punched me in the stomach. "We need to work on your reflexes and your defense." She punched me again, but I blocked it. "Vampires move much quicker than humans. You know that. It's time for you to use those heightened strengths that Harry gave you from you two drinking each others' blood."
"I don't feel any different," I shrugged. "Maybe, Harry needs to drink more of my blood to make my senses better."
"You never put them to the test." Angelina lifted up her fists in a ready position. "Concentrate and block every move I make."
She swung to the left and I tilted back so that she wouldn't hit me. Once I recovered from the tilt, I was thrown back from the kick she delivered to me. "What was that for?"
"I said block, not dodge. We'll get to dodging later. Now, block using your hands. Get up."
I got up and got into my ready position. This time, Angelina kicked me first. I shoved her leg down and blocked her punch with my forearm. She continued to be offense, until she had a pleasing look on her face. Finally, she moved away and went to a table near by.
"That was pretty good," I groaned, stretching my arm as I walked towards the stairs. "What are we working on tomorrow?"
"The hour isn't up," Angelina called to me.
I looked up at the time and groaned. "It's only been that long?!"
Angelina nodded and walked back to the center. "That's right. Come over here."
"So, what now?"
"We're still working on defense." Angelina held up a bandana and threw it at me. I looked at her confused. "Put it over your eyes," she ordered.
"What?"
Angelina sighed as she walked behind me and slipped on the bandana, covering my eyes. "When Harry drank from you, your senses heightened. Your smell, touch, taste, hearing, and your sight heightened. With this exercise, you're going to only use three things: hearing, smell, and touch."
"And how do I do that if I can't see you?"
"Eliminate sight, your hearing gets better along with your smelling skills. When you close your eyes in a field, you smell the earth and sometimes can imagine it in your mind. You can hear the leaves moving on the trees and the birds singing. Am I right?"
I nodded, feeling nervous hearing the sound of her combat boots walking around me. "So, what do you want me to do?"
"Listen around you, clear your mind, and try to figure out where I am. Block my every move."
"Okay," I took a deep breath and tried to figure out where Angelina was. I tried listening to the sound of her combat boots moving again, but I heard nothing. Suddenly, I felt a fist connect to my stomach, making me slouch forward. Then, I felt another one on my side that made me fall down.
"What went wrong?"
"I couldn't hear you!"
"Yes, you could've. You weren't concentrating hard enough."
