Octavia
All the anger Octavia had stored away from Clarke's disappearance had melted as quickly as it came and it's like nothing had happened. She needs her in her life and although she hates to admit it, it could never be the same without her in it. As they get nearer to the walls of their home, Clarke's eyes widen and O can see the nerves written all over her face."He did a good job." Clarke breaths and Octavia smiles, proud of her brothers accomplishment.
"We've started making a permanent living space for us, since peace became inevitable; let's hope it lasts."
"I don't wanna go in." She admits, scared of all the judgements
"I'm not gonna lie, no ones gonna be thrilled to see you..give them time., they'll come around." With safe passage Miller let's them through the gates, and a smile beams off him when he sees Clarke and then a familiar voice shouts over the crowd surrounding them.
"MUST'VE FORGOT WHEN I SAID YOU'S COULD ALL STOP, WE NEED THIS FINISHED FOR WINTER." Bellamy screams as he makes his way over. He takes a single glance at Clarke, looking straight through her and not even acknowledging her, but his voice seems caught in his throat," Everyone back to work." He states coldly and leaves the two girls standing there in astonishment. Octavia goes to talk to him but Clarke shakes her head.
"I think I should." O smiles and allows Clarke to feel the wrath of her brother.
Clarke
Sucking in a deep breath, she begins to follow him into his tent and she finds him, sitting on the edge of the blankets, miles deep to the floor and he's staring at the wall of the tent."Can I sit?" She asks gently; he doesn't respond. So, she takes a seat beside him on the bed, nervous.
"Why'd you come back?" He asks heavily after a second, his voice shaking as though he'd seen a ghost.
"Octavia convinced me, she said it was worth risking a war if it meant I was home."
"This isn't your home Clarke, you left us." He says harshly and turns to glance at her but he can't look away when she her broke eyes meets his.
"I know I did, but I had no choice- Bellamy you know that." Clarke says hesitantly, fearing he doesn't see her perspective
"YES YOU DID." He shouts suddenly, standing from the bed and begins to walk away
"Bellamy, don't." She says and he stops just before leaving," don't leave, I'm trying to fix this."
"You did." That shit hit her like a tonne of bricks
"But you're better than me. You built everything out of nothing- Bellamy..I-I need you." Tears run from her eyes, bleaching her dirty jacket- she's grasping at anything to make him stay
"You didn't need me 3months ago-"
"I did." Her voice cracks," I always need you."
"Well I don't, not anymore." He leaves, forcing her to be alone with her emotions and dealing with the consequences alone.
And she has the worst feeling he's never coming back. Clarke runs out of the tent, moments later but Murphy blocks her path annoyingly, clearly he still likes to get in the way.
"Murphy not now." She says deeply and he backs off, frowning
Bellamy
"Monte, I need some more of this stuff.""You look like hell, did the reunion go so well?" If looks could kill, Monte would be dead
In a second."Bellamy!" A faint voice screams from the background
"I forgot how annoying she was." grumbles before chugging down his drink and turning around to see the blonde teenager directly in front of him.
"We aren't done talking." She orders, not caring for the people around, who weren't so discreetly listening in.
"I don't take orders from you, I don't take them from anybody." His voice showed no warmth and acted as thought Clarke was his nemesis
"Clearly you need to take them from somebody. Yes, I left you Bellamy and yes I feel awfully shit about it but unless you're gonna tell me that one day you'll be able to forgive me I don't see the point in fighting for it."
"Then walk away, you've gotten pretty good at that lately." He turns around but Clarke grabs one arm, stopping him.
"I refuse to let you hate me."
"That's not your choice Clarke, not everything is about you."
"Well I'm sorry that I need you in my life Bellamy."
"You don't get to choose when you want someone there and when you don't. YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH SOMEONE."
"That's why you think I left?" Her voice goes delicate and gentle whilst Bellamy raises his eyebrows," I left to protect everyone, including you." She shouts then glares to the enlarging crowd around her, who vanish at her deathly stare.
"Clarke I didn't want you to leave. I made it very clear that I would go to war, for you." Bellamy tells her, he can feel the walls crumbling every time he looks into her eyes, along with his heart.
"Which is why I had to stay. We would've lost everything Bellamy, can't you see that."
"But I did." Fragile eyes and trembling hands, Bellamy has cracked- he can't stay mad any longer,"I lost everything Clarke: I lost my partner, my leader, my friend. I lost the only other person I actually gave a damn about other than Octavia."
"At least you never lost yourself, you made this place thrive Bellamy. I'm so proud of you." She tells him, tears staining her skin and he sighs heavily, beginning to fleet a weight lift from his chest
For a second, the world stands still as Bellamy attempts to recompose himself and Clarke is still searching his soul to find a bit of him that could forgive her. And in that moment, everything became okay; without words or actions, only the solid connection with their gaze upon one another, Bellamy forgave her.
"I missed you, so much Clarke you have-" he stops mid sentence as she rushes over to him in a tight embrace and he pulls her as close as he can, scares of letting go.
"Me too." She whispers into his chest," Me too."
