Chapter 30: The heart settles

5 Years Later.....

Clarke
" PRINCESS!" Bellamy screams as he makes his way into the room of their lodge Bellamy had finished just in time for summer.

"What?" She smiles in excitement, loving his enthusiasm. Meeting him halfway, she's inches smaller than him but stares up in awe.

"Your diary from years ago." He smirks and she goes to grab it but he quickly lifts it above her head, too high for her to reach. However, Clarke raises an eyebrow and he gives in momentarily.

"Where the hell did you find this?" She exclaims, scanning the pages

"Jenny found it on a walk with Octavia."

"God, I still remember when Octavia was pregnant with her..." her voice trails off, reliving the memory," I should actually go see her, I haven't seen her all day." Clarke tells him and plants a quick kiss on his cheek before leaving the cabin to see Octavia.

I leave my diary in our room and leave the cottage. As I step outside the smell the of fresh bread meets my nose; I turn my head towards the far side of camp and see Miller over in the food shack( that's what we call it) making bread. I smile to myself, look at how far we've all come.

I make my way over to the Dropship, that's where O wanted to meet me.  Why there??. I approach the dropship and she inside leaning against one of the walls twiddling her fingers.
"Hey." I say as I sit down beside her
" Hey." She replies,
" You ok??"
" I don't know. I just never guessed that this would be my life. I mean look at everything around us.. Everything we've done to survive"
" Tell me about it. The things we've done don't define us, it's how we react to it.."
" I was the first person in 97 years to touch the Ground." her smile said it all
" I led a bunch of wreckless, immature teenagers and led them to victory." I also smile
" With the help of a very sexy co-leader." I hear a male voice say out of the shadows, he comes and pulls a chair up to us. Joining in on our conversation.... Bellamy
" I killed my mom." I hear another male voice say as Monte joins us.
" Sorry to one up you buddy," I hear Jasper say as he pats Monte and Bellamy on the back," but I got a spear in the chest on the first day down here"
" Sorry Bitches but I build a pod and came to earth myself." I hear Raven say as she enter the dropship.

We're all here together, how the fuck are we alive.

" How the fuck are we all still alive??" Octavia points out.
" You bitch, you just stole my thought." I say laughing and give her a slight nudge
" Is this the rest of our lives??" Monte says.
" God I hope so." Bellamy says, looking at me
"O my god Get a bedroom the two of you please." Raven shouts
" We already do." I state. Then everyone bursts out laughing.

Bellamy's POV:

After a lot of drinking and talking about things we shouldn't, everyone went back to our home. Feels weird to say that even after all this time. Me and Clarke were left tidying up. No surprise there.

" You ready to go home??" Clarke asks
" Whenever the princes is ready."  I say smirking
We walk out together hand in hand talking the whole way home, I have one more surprise for her.....

We reach the gates and Murphy opens them for us as Clarke begins to walk in, I fall 'accidentally' and land on one knee. Clarke spins around facing me.
" Oh my god are you ok Bellamy." I reach in my pocket, still on one knee, and pull out my mothers ring. She gave it to me moments before she was floated and told me to give it to someone I love.
" Bell..."
" Clarke Griffin. My co-leader. My princess. My rock. Will you do me the honor of spending every single moment of your dreadful life on the ground with me, the jack-ass that did everything wrong but you saw the good in me. And I fell in love with you so.... Will you...she interrupts me."

A crowd had begun to gather outside to see what is so fascinating outside, I like an audience.

" Yes. Yes Bellamy. I will!!" She comes up to me and kisses me before pulling away. She practically shouts her answer around and the crowd outside the gates begins to clap. Clarke turns to face them, then blushes and turns around to me. Burying her head into my chest, smiling.

" God I love you Princess." I say as I kiss her forehead.
" I love you too." She replies onto my chest.

Wow. Who knew eh? Me and the Princess. What did I do to deserve her??

I love her so much. It's probably dangerous.

Well... What's love without a bit of danger???
