CHAPTER 18.
*6 days later*
"We're going to be late," I moaned.
"Calm down, we still have an hour before the wedding actually starts," Ethan replied, rolling his eyes as he wove his way through the traffic.
"But Charlie asked us to be there early," I complained, checking the black watch on my right wrist.
It was Mum's. But she saw me wearing the jumpsuit and just took off her watch, giving it to me and saying that it 'completed the look'.
The jumpsuit looked amazing, it's colour seemed like the perfect colour to blend in with people. It had straps that wove around my neck, and pockets by my waist.
"An hour early is early enough," he said, pausing at a stoplight and turning to look at me. "What are you worried about?"
"I don't like being late."
"You don't like a lot of things."
"Crap, is my lipstick messed up?" I asked him frantically when I accidentally licked my lips.
"No," he responded, looking amused. "You look nice, so stop worrying."
Thank you, Jade, for putting blush on me.
"You clean up pretty nice, too," I remarked, my eyes wandering over his black suit. He wore a black tie, and his hair was gelled up so that it was more formal-looking, and it looked like he had freshly shaved.
Our friendship has also definitely improved by a mile, and I don't think I should be saying this, but Goddamn, he was hot.
I seriously wish that I had managed to see his whole attire earlier.
We didn't have time to look over each other when he picked me up a bit late. He had forgotten that Charlie asked the swim team to be there early.
I almost fell flat on my face wearing Jade's black heels. However, she claimed that I had to wear them, even though I wasn't complaining.
I just didn't want to die today, you know?
Jade got a ride from Nathan, which pissed me off slightly. Charlie gave permission for Nathan to come, even if he practically knew nobody, and so Jade went with Nate.
Ethan's grey eyes wandered down my body, and I turned away, trying not to go any redder.
"I always look good, though," he said cockily, stepping on the accelerator and I was thrown forward slightly.
"Your ego is suffocating me," I snapped, opening my black clutch bag to bring out a mirror to check my appearance. "It always does."
"Yeah, well, deal with it," he murmured, his eyes back on the road. "Malia. I'm serious. You look gorgeous, stop worrying."
