CHAPTER 30.
"How could you do that to me? I hate you."
"Liar," I said, shaking my head. "Liar, liar, pants on fire."
"Shut up," Jade grumbled. "Oh my god, stop being all lovey dovey, you two. It makes me want to puke."
"How do you think I feel when you're with Nate, then?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"That's different."
"It's just not, though. You know it. I dealt with it for ages, you can handle this. We've been together for, like, two weeks. I don't even know how long you and Nate have been together."
"I actually hate you."
"Girls, girls," Ethan drawled, rolling his eyes. "Stop fighting."
"We wouldn't be if you haven't got her cuddled up," Jade scowled, and I blushed. "Ugh, look at her. You've turned her into mush."
I scowled. "You bitch, he hasn't."
"Well, you've got him wrapped around your finger," she whispered, although Ethan heard it anyways. He glared at her and pulled me even closer.
"Ethan, I'm not going anywhere," I protested.
"Yeah, Ethan, she's not going anywhere," Jade said, narrowing her eyes at him. They're never going to get along. Just like cats and dogs. "She's not a pet, stop acting like she's one."
"Guys, shut up," I groaned, untangling myself from Ethan's arms. "I'm going to go get some water. Anyone want anything?"
"Yeah, a glass of really, really cold water," Jade requested, glaring at my boyfriend. I shook my head and made my way to the kitchen.
I was pretty much fully healed. No wheelchair. All I was experiencing now was slight aches, but that was only if I walked for too long, or held something really heavy.
Ethan and I have been together for two weeks, and to be honest, it wasn't what I expected.
But then again, I didn't really expect anything. If I remembered correctly, I kind of just went for it and said yes.
I was happy. Happier than I had been since...since Dad's death. Much happier.
Mum and Dylan are fine. Like I've said before, Mum had it hardest. Dylan and I managed to get up and about and go on with our lives, while for Mum, it was like she was on pause for a couple of weeks.
It was hard, but we had each other.
And now, I have Ethan.
I walked back to the living room with two glasses of water, handing one to Jade before I'm pulled back down into my original seat next to Ethan.
"Ethan!" I gasped as some water escaped my glass. "Oh my god, you idiot."
"Your idiot."
"You did not just say that," I groaned, placing the glass down and shaking any water off my hand. "Jesus. When did you become so corny?"
"When I fell in love with you," he said cheekily, and I smack him gently in the forehead.
"Oh god, please stop," Jade begged. "Or I'm will not hesitate to throw this water all over you. Malia, you as well. Man, I'm going to vomit."
"I thought we were friends, Jade," I said dramatically, putting a hand over my heart. "You betrayed me."
"We were until you got with the wanker." Her scowl deepened.
