CHAPTER 23.
"How am I going to dance in this dress?" I grumbled as Jade brushed my hair. "Be a bit more gentle, please. It feels like you want to rip my hair out."
"Just shut up," Jade growled. "The dress is comfortable, and you can move around easily. So don't complain."
Tonight was the night of the gala dinner. Jade and Ella are both in my room, getting ready, but Jade's main priority was me.
As said before, the dinner was at six, but Jade came barreling into my room at four, pulling me off the bed and pushing me into the shower.
When I came out, Ella was also in my room, doing her make up.
Jade sat me down on a chair, dried my hair, and did my make up.
Right now, it was 5:30, and she was attempting to put my hair up into a messy bun, much like the one I wore at Charlie's wedding.
"You have so much hair," she grunted, pulling out a few strands. "How do you swim with it?"
"Um, it goes in a cap?" I replied, with a hint of sarcasm. "If it's so much trouble for you to deal with it, why don't you just leave it?"
"She's not going to do that," Ella laughed. "Plus, the bun will look amazing with your dress."
I couldn't disagree with that.
The dress Jade got for me was long, sleeveless, and white. It had slits on both of my legs, hence why I was so reluctant to wear it. It didn't exactly cover much.
Jade also whipped out some white heels for me to wear. How I was going to dance in them, I did not know.
My makeup was light, because she went for a 'natural beauty' look.
Ella had on a less revealing dress, although the attention was sure to be on her face. Her makeup was amazing, it wasn't too heavy, wasn't too light.
Jade herself had curled her hair, did her own makeup, and her dress was a sleeveless silver one. Once she put it on, she'd look stunning.
"Okay, I'm done," she announced. "Now go put on your dress."
"It's only five-forty," I protested, getting off the chair with a numb butt.
"And?" she raised her eyebrows. "Mark said to get there a bit early, remember? Everyone is probably there already."
"You want to get there twenty minutes early?"
"By the time we're all dressed, it'll be like, five-fifty, so go get dressed!" she exclaimed, in the tone that pretty much decided what we were going to do.
"Okay, okay." I raised up my hands defensively, grabbing my dress that was hanging on the wardrobe and bringing it into the bathroom.
I was scared to death I was going to ruin my makeup or hair, but thankfully, it all went smoothly.
