Thank you sister,
For brainwashing me,
Thank you mother and father for doing the same
Thank you for telling me
"House cleaning is the girls work"
And that I couldn't help fix the front door
Thank you for telling me that
When a boy is mean to you, he really likes you,
When he hits you, he wants to hold you
When he yells at you, he really loves you
Thank you society
For telling me at age 10 that I should cover up because I grew faster than the other girls,
Thanks for telling me
In middle school not to wear a v cut shirt because my god!
The principal won't hesitate to take a peek
Thanks for brainwashing me
And telling me
That I am weaker both physically and emotionally and
God forbid if I'm not dainty like a petit princess means
Im not equal to the level of respect society created for me
Thank you (some) men for
Making me feel like I have zero control over my body because
Apparently you have total control of it
Thank you for telling me
To keep quiet if you get touched without consent because lord you are jumping to convulsions and you sound like you want attention!
Thanks for telling me that
If I'm ever angry that means
I'm obviously on my monthly and I should "plug it up" and suck it up
Thank you world for your lack of freedom,
Thank you for brainwashing me but,
I'd rather be dirty.
