Eventually Jack stopped the sled rides and looked up at Pitch on his nightmare horse on top of a building. There was a wave of black nightmare sand on the streets behind him.

"You think a few children can help you?" Pitch motioned to more waves of nightmare sand that came at us from all angles, "Against this?"

North pointed his sword at him, but he was too weak to hold it up for too long. He had to resort to using it as a cane once again. Jamie gasped and looked at us with a scared expression on his face.

"They're just bad dreams Jamie," Jack turned and told him.

"We'll protect you mate," Bunny reassured the kids.

"Aww, you'll protect them," Pitch laughed and more lightning lit up the sky, thunder accompanying it, "But who'll protect you?"

We were at a loss for words, knowing that he was right, we were too weak to win in a fight against him. Jamie looked around for an answer before stepping up in front of us.

"I will," he spoke with fearlessness.

"I will," one of his friends came forth.

"I will," two more stood in front of us.

"And me," another girl said.

"I, I'll try," one with glasses shrugged but stepped forward.

Jack and Jamie shared a look and everyone got prepared to fight, our muscles tensing in anticipation.

"Still don't think there's no such thing as the boogeyman?" Pitch taunted as the wave of black sand and nightmare horses got nearer.

The lights blew out as the sand passed them, and the children looked even more scared, but still they stood their ground.

"I do believe in you," Jamie said, "I'm just not afraid of you."

The nightmare sand wave got closer and Jamie and the other kids held their hands out in front of their faces and closed their eyes. When the sand touched Jamie's hand it turned gold, like Sandy's dream sand before he died, and then the black sand was gone, replaced by bright gold.

The kids and the guardians laughed in awe and stared at the thin streams of golden sand that wormed their way through the group. The kids were clapping and jumping at the sight, and the guardians slowly got their strength back. Tooth was able to fly again, North could lift his swords and his rosy red cheeks returned.

"No! Get them!" Pitch yelled to his nightmare horses desperately, "Do your jobs."

The horses charged.

"Come on, come on," Bunny eagerly awaited his transformation back to his full size, but the horses were headed straight for him.

"Oh crikey," he noticed them and hopped away, knowing he was easy prey when he was that small.

North opened two portals to the Pole and some of his yetis came through them, charging at the horses. Bunny ran under a car, a nightmare horse quickly sticking its muzzle under it to catch his tail and pull him out. What the horse didn't expect though, was him being back to his normal size.

"Gooday mate," he said as he kicked himself out of the horses grasp and landed on his feet after a flip.

He threw his boomerangs and the horses were gone in an instant. Then, he thumped his foot twice and opened a tunnel for some of his stone eggs to come through and join the fray.

"C'mon!" he charged at the nightmare horses.

"Let's get 'em!" the children charged too, turning the horses from black to gold with a single touch.

Yetis smashed, North slashed, Tooth rammed into them, and children touched the horses. Bunny used his egg bombs and boomerangs and his stone eggs simply ran through them, but the horse's numbers were diminishing.

I followed Jack up onto the roof where Pitch was and stood next to him, both our staffs ready to fire. Jack took out two of the horses first, while I got the other three with a few rainbows, until there was nothing left in front of Pitch and his nightmare steed. He reared and took off, traveling through the shadows while Jack and I shot at him, just narrowly missing.

Pitch threw one of his sand arrows at Jack when we turned the corner, but Tooth saved him and continued fighting the horses that had gathered around their master.

"Thanks Tooth," Jack only got an excited woohoo out of her in reply.

Bunny appeared from inside a chimney and took out a few nightmares with his boomerang, yelling 'hohoho' like North would have. North popped out of a tunnel on the wrong roof and took out the horse Pitch was riding when he tried to escape Bunny and Tooth.

North and Pitch landed on the street and swung at each other with swords and scythe. Pitch almost hit North, but Bunny took over and threw his boomerang. Pitch's scythe got stuck in the street and he was forced to dodge Tooth as she flew by quickly. Then Jack jumped in and kicked him with an icy foot. I let loose a rainbow beam that nailed him where Jack hit him, effectively completing a frozen gash on his arm.

The guardians, Jack and I crouched down in fighting position, Affiah floating above us on a cloud, creating a light fog around Pitch's eyes.

"It's over Pitch, there's no place to hide," Jack and the rest of us advanced on our cornered foe.

He faded into the shadows at our feet and disappeared. Only to reappear in the same spot he was in before, right when Jack turned his back. Pitch got his scythe ready to swing.

"Jack, look out," Bunny threw his boomerang, but it just bounced off the scythe's shaft and Pitch continued with his swing.

I let loose one of my clover daggers in a panic, but I knew it would be too late. Just as Pitch was about to hit Jack, golden sand wrapped around his scythe and pulled him back. He landed in front of a small tornado of dream sand, his eyes wide.

Sandy appeared from within and everyone got large smiles on their faces, while Pitch stared at him in horror. Sandy pulled him closer and wagged his finger in the man's face before punching him into the air.

Some kids walked up to him and stared in awe. Sandy made a hat out of his dream sand and took it off, doing a little bow for them. Jamie saluted in response. The whip that was connected the Pitch moved, and Sandy nonchalantly pulled him back to the ground and let the whip dissolve.

Everyone surrounded him, eager to welcome him back. North lifted him up and Sandy put his hands up in the air like a cheer. Multiple greetings passed through the air, glad to be reunited with their old friend. I ran up to him and hugged him for just a second before letting the other guardians pat his back.
