Tara's POV

I cleared my throat and stared at my phone screen for the last time. Seeing Johnny's name mentioned in the text message made me felt more nervous.

I quickly leaned forward to the driver's seat inside the cab and decided to change route. "Excuse me mr, but can we take the right turn instead? I have an emergency." I requested.

"But the road there is jammed with traffic at this hour miss.."

"Uhh ummm, well is there any other route or shortcut we can take on our way to Maryland Homes fast?"

"We'll see miss."

I checked my phone again and tried calling Wayne/Nathan but, none of him answered. I was just left there, scratching my knees...feeling bothered and uneasy.

Nathan's POV

(6:30 PM)

For the very first time in 2 months, I had decided to read a book again from the old shelf I had downstairs in the living room.

"The second state.. Hmm unique genre. Never seen this boo--"

This deafening sound suddenly rang into both of my eardrums. The noise was loudly crawling into my brain cells. I dropped the book out of the pain and twinge inside my head. I knelt down and shouted mutely from the unexpected suffering.

What crap is happening? Make it stop!!

As soon as I sat down on the floor and accidentally pushed the book to the corner with my kick, the ringing in my head stopped.

I opened my eyes normally again and stood up quickly. "What in the world just happened?" I went near to the wall of the staircase and checked my reflection in the mirror attached up there. Out of nowhere, the color of my eyes suddenly shifted into light and dark blue fast. I almost freaked out and drew my face nearer to the mirror. I blinked and was about to stretch the eyelids open around my eyes, but a loud shout instantly distracted me from outside.

"HEY RETARD!! HEY!!!!!" - a familiar voice

I went back to the living room and carefully peeked through the window beside the front door. "Isn't that Johnny?" I whispered to myself and hid at the side. I saw him pointing a gun towards the window upstairs.

Is he threatening me now?

I was confused.. I didn't know his anger would go to that extent. I was hesitating to respond to that commotion from him, but these memories of him attacking Tara triggered inside my head.

I crumpled my fists and went out the front door with fearless steps towards his direction.

"Well well well.. I thought you'd chicken out," Johnny smirked and fixed the pistol's position directly to my face. "I'm literally going to shoot you.. enough about your crap weirdo this will be the end!"

I tilted my head and squinted my eyes. "What about all the crap you did, Johnny?" I raised my lips a bit to smile sarcastically.

"F*ck you! I did nothing wrong compared to your psychotic actions!" he shouted, sprinkling a bit saliva to my face.

I blinked, casually wiping off out of disgust and changed my expression into a much serious one. "Huh, what about the kidnapping you did to Tara? the harassment you've been intending to give to her for your advantage?? what about all of that?!"

Tara's POV

I stood from behind the bushes watching the intense scene between them. I was hesitating to interrupt because of what Wayne had warned me before. I paused, thought about it again, and wanted to oppose so bad.
