Eva's POV
(6:00 AM)
I was with this Nathan boy in the car, driving him to my husband's clinic. We were finally able to convince him getting observed and diagnosed for his condition. I don't want to lie.. it was hard. Everyday, we would always try to give a shot in visiting his house.. but of course he ignored us at first. Sooner, when we were about to decide in coming back for the seventh time around, he went to see us himself in front of our home. I didn't know what came in to his mind, but I was glad that he finally realized the relevance of our help.
"When was the last time you came to the clinic again, boy?" I asked, trying to break the silence.
"Uhh I can't really remember. Maybe when I was younger?" he answered as I saw him focusing the outside view through his window beside the driver's seat.
"Hmm is that so? Well it's nice to have a chat with you again," I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel and offered him a warm smile.
I hope this boy won't build the awkward atmosphere too much. How does Tara even get a chance to casually talk to him without any problem?
Minutes later of driving, we stopped at the first lane of cars in front of the Red signal. I turned on the radio and asked for his music genre. "What kind of music do you like, Nath?"
"Any will do, just not those loud party musics. I hate them so much," he blurted out.
Oh wow didn't see that coming
"I thought you're the bad boy type of person," I chuckled and chose a random channel. "Guess I'm slightly wrong about that," I murmured to myself.
"Uh Mrs. Cameron?" he called as loud honks from the cars were all over the place.
"Yes?" I looked at him, distracted.
"The stoplight says green already."
"Oh dear, you're right." I rushed for pushing back the handbreak and stepped on the gas pedal quick.
But as soon as we got to the middle of the intersection, I saw this cement mixer vehicle seconds away from dashing right at us with uncontrollable speed.
And that was the moment when I truly thought it was the end of us.
Tara's POV
Rose and I immediately caught up to Manhattan's Central Hospital after hearing from Mr. Cameron.
We rushed to the front desk and nervously asked for the room where they were both hopefully located at. But, the nurse just informed us that Nathan/Wayne was still in the operation room while Mrs. Cameron is already at the VIP ROOM resting. And that made me felt more panicked and thought that he was deeply in a crucial condition.
Why is this happening all of a sudden?! I don't understand
I crumpled my fists and bit my lip. I turned around and ran to Mr. Cameron as soon as we saw him approaching our way.
I quickly went to hug him tightly and buried my face to his chest. I tried to keep my tears for myself but it was too heavy already.
"I'm so sorry dear," he whispered to me and grabbed Rose as well to join the embrace.
