Chapter Seventeen: Why

You arrived at the location, stepping out of your jet.

Your shoes made a satisfying clip-clop on the ground as you walked.

Frowning, you saw that you were all met with the vampire extermination unit.

"Seriously?" You sigh.

The one who looked like the head of this particular squad spoke up.

"We don't want to hurt you...but orders say that no outsiders, especially vamp-"

"Well fuck that."

You continued walking past them as they stared and froze.

"You can't go in there!" One of them called.

"Watch me." You hummed, skipping to your destination.

"Now, where was the head building located again~?" You said to yourself, taking a left.

For what seemed like seconds, you arrived, only to be met with more from the vampire extermination unit.

"Are you fucking with me right now?" You groan, not wanting to fight. You still had loyalty to them, after all, you were once one of them and the vampire extermination unit took you in when nobody else did.

Muttering curses to yourself, you reached into your pocket. You had a little surprise.

"Nighty nighty~" you called out, confusing the humans.

Then, leaping, you spread out some sort of powder. One by one they fell, asleep and snoring. Some even started to drool.

You looked at the drool and grimaced.

"I really hope I don't do that in my sleep." You say to yourself.

Continuing on, you've entered the building.

"Now, to find Guren, that idiot." You growl.

"Looking for me?" A familiar voice called out.

"You-" you started, only to be shocked when he lurched towards you, sword drawn.

You drew your sword out just in time and blocked him.

'Did he get...stronger?!' You thought as you held him back.

"Looks like someone decided to come back." He grinned.

"Looks like someone lost their marbles." You grumble back and kick him to the wall.

He got up, almost unharmed.

"Looks like someone chose a vampire over her own species."

You glared at him.

"That was my own personal choice, and I'm glad I made it, seeing the mess going on here."

Guren laughed, not his usual laugh, but a maniacal one. He wasn't himself at all.

"Who are you?" You ask, angry.

"Hm? Guren, of course." He smirked.

He then lunged at you, ready to stab you in the stomach.

You dodged, raising your sword, but as you brought it down, you couldn't hit him.

You stood there, frozen as the perfect opportunity to kill him passes by.

He takes this to his opportunity and kicks you.

You got back up.

'I have to at least hurt him! He needs to be stopped!' Your thoughts screamed, but memories kept flooding into your head.

Memories of when you were a child, all alone after running away. Memories of being found. Memories of being raised by Guren. He was like a father to you and Yuu. You looked into the eyes of the man you were fighting.

Was that, really Guren?

Ah yes, updating after two years. Jfc I took a long ass hiatus, but I was going through...a LOT of shit, stuff I won't say on here. I don't know when I'll be able to update next due to exams and whatnot, plus I'm sorta out of the loop w/ the anime n manga lolol but I'll try my very best.
