"I just found out there's no such thing as the real world, just lie you got to rise above" I jammed to the John Mayer playing in my ear buds, panting from the few miles I had just run. I approached mine and (y/n)'s apartment complex, heading toward the elevator. I noticed the beautiful scenery around me; the leaves had just turned into reds and golds. The 'ding' of the elevator startled me a bit, as I had completely zoned out there for a few seconds.
As I approached our apartment door and put the key in, an unfamiliar man's voice threw me off.
(Y/n) said she wasn't home yet.
Thief?
Intruder?
I paused, thinking with the key still in the door. I decided to call (y/n), because what if someone broke in?
That was the moment my heart shattered.
I heard the familiar ring tone come from inside. I burst the door open, basically sprinted into our bedroom to see the most horrifying thing my eyes had ever seen;
She was in bed with another guy.
My eyes flooded with tears, as I quietly said
"How could you."
As soon as our eyes met, hers widened and she stood up, grabbing the blanket to cover herself. I quickly walked out of the apartment as she yelled things like
"No, Jared you don't understand!!"
"I love you!"
"Please, I'm sorry!!"
"Wait!"
But my mind was in 30 million different places, thoughts running through my mind at a million miles an hour. Everything I had ever known was a lie; everything I had put my time and effort to was gone.
The love of my life didn't love me back and that hurt more than I could ever imagine.
