"And that's everything!" I finish, spinning around to face Bill.
The redhead stands in the center of the room, looking around in awe. "This doesn't-"
"I know, it's straight out of a sci-fi movie," I grin, although my smile falters, "You probably don't know what sci-fi movies are... we'll take a couple of days and watch them all it's fine."
"What did you say?" he looks at me, slightly dazed.
I laugh, "Nothing. What do you think?"
"This is amazing. So they can track every witch and wizard with that- that thing?" he points at the center table, which was also a large touchscreen with several maps with several moving dots.
"Yes- well, not with that particular thing. That just displays the information."
"Then what tracks them?"
"Well- it's a little hard to explain, maybe later."
"Can't you just do the thing you did with Dillon, pushing the information in?"
"No, this has too many parts, it wouldn't work- and don't bother asking about how that works, because I'm not telling you now."
"But-"
"I'll give you a book on it when we get back to the lab."
"Alright, fine. But how does this exist and nobody knows about it?"
"A lot of people know about it. It's pretty much just the people in Hogwarts land that know nothing. Your Ministry likes it that way."
"Why would the Ministry want to keep things from us? That doesn't make sense."
"They regulate what Hogwarts can teach you, and they obviously teach you a lot less than other schools."
"Okay, so America is more advanced, that doesn't mean they're keeping things from us."
"Pretty much every other country in the world knows exactly the same amount that North America does."
He sighs, "That doesn't make sense."
"A lot of things don't make sense. Have you seen enough? Because I should really get back to the lab."
"Well, I..."
"We can come back later, I just have to make sure everything is going okay with the new inventory. I guess I could leave you here..."
"No, I'll go back with you."
"Good," I smile, grabbing his hand, and apparating back to the lab.
---
"So did you guys talk about it?"
I shriek, nearly knocking over a shelf of artifacts, "Jack! You can't just sneak up on me like that!"
"Sorry." He appears from behind the shelf I almost knocked over, that probably would have killed him. "You didn't find me when you got back."
"Well, finding you would have ruined my plan to avoid you," I say with a fake smile, pushing the cart to the next aisle.
"Come on, Biz. I don't even know why you're mad at me."
"I'm not mad at you."
"You just said you're avoiding me."
"That doesn't mean I'm mad at you. I'm just..." I trail off, taking a few things from the crate and setting them on the shelf.
"You just what?" he leans against the cold metal, attempting to make eye contact.
"Nothing. So, you asked about Bill. I'll talk about that."
