Epilogue

Max, Ross, Tim and I had moved into an house over the week before the surgery and we finished the day after. Shelby came by and was so happy to see me being able to see again. It's Saturday night and we're all getting ready to head over to Adam's place for a get together but right now Shelby and I are getting ready. We were going through my closet, piking out cute outfits to impress the boys. It was an office party so everyone was going to be there even Shelby's crush, Corey.

"So what time are we meeting the guys there?" Shelby asked from the bathroom doing her makeup. I shrugged pulling out a black cut off T-shirt with an Xbox controller on it.

"No clue, probably just when we get there!" I yelled to her. I changed into ripped blue jeans and the T-shirt. I walked out tying a red and black flannel around my waist. My hair was loosely curled and half up. I hadn't worn any makeup since the surgery except foundation so my scars were pretty visible. I didn't care because Max thought the thin white lines were cute. I walked by the bathroom and Shelby's arm flew out with my glasses.

"You almost forgot them, Ri!" She chirped.

"Thanks Shelby!" I said slipping them on. She turned the light off and walked out.

"No problem." She laughed. We walked up the stairs to the kitchen to grab our phones and purses, only to be met by Galileo. He really liked Shelby.

"So when are you and Corey going to get together?" I asked slyly grabbing my set of keys and walking down the stairs to the front door.

"As if!" Shelby responded laughing.

"Come on," I began, unlocking my Prius, "you two obviously have feelings for each other!" She laughed nervously while getting into the passenger's side.

"Well it took you a couple of years to tell Max you liked him! I can wait." We looked at each other and laughed. My phone went off, it was a text from max.

'Hey sweetie, you on your way?'

'Yep! Just leaving now bb, see you in a bit.'

I put my phone down and drove to Adam's house, jamming away to Cold Play the entire way. When we walked through the door the entire house cheered, it was the first day any of them have actually seen me without the bandages i used to wear.

John ran over and picked me up, spinning me around. Tristan, Em, James and Corey came and gave me a hug, same with Jake, Ethan, and Preston. Jason had brought me flowers and gave me a long hug. We were friends for a long time before I ever moved to Washington, kind of how Shelby and I are.

I walked around looking for my boyfriend and Adam who ended up being outside alone on the deck. They both had a glass of wine in hand and looked like they were having a really good discussion. I leaned up against the door frame just watching him smile and talk. Adam looked up and caught my eye, he pushed his chair back and stood. I opened the sliding glass door and made my way out onto the deck, my healed sneakers giving me an extra two inches so I was almost as tall as he. Adam opened his arms and I flung myself in them. My eyes grew wetter as our hug lasted. I pulled away and saw that he had a tear on his face.

"I'm fine." I smiled wiping it away. Adam hadn't seen me the entire time I was out of work because he had jammed so much in with work and his family and getting his mental health better. I hugged him again.

"I'm sorry I didn't visit you, it's just that..." He whispered.

"I know, I know," I cooed. "It's alright, Adam." We pulled away and we smiled laughing slightly.

"I wan to say thank you," he looked at me with a confused look and I pointed to max. "He told you you paid for the surgery."

"I would do it for anyone I really care about." Adam said with a laugh.

"Hey you guys, come on inside!" Tim yelled. Adam and Max both took a sip and started for the doors. Max took my hand and we walked together. His eyes were gleaming, just how they where when we first met.
