Chapter 14 ~ New Friendship

Where are your parents?", he asks

"Oh. My parents abandoned me when I younger. They found out I was gay then kicked me out. My aunt took me in but I'm glad it turned out that way, my parents were abusive, very abusive to a point where I frequently went to the hospital. My aunt truly saved me", I explain

He then sat there in shock.

"Say something", I say

"That's ... That's terrible. I'm so sorry", he says as he held my hand

"It's okay. I've grown stronger since then. What about your parents? Do you mind me asking about them?", I ask

"My parents ... My parents weren't happy people. They struggled with bills and had a hard time raising me. They did their best and I'm proud of them. Eventually, it all came crashing down when my dad lost his job. He sank into depression and eventually started drinking. It was sometimes out of control. A week before their death, my mom sent me to stay with my grandmother for a bit, a week later I came home and found their bodies in their room. The doctors say they overdosed on meds, they took alcohol and some meds together. A lot was found in their system", he explains.

"I'm so sorry to hear that", I say while clutching his hand.

"While I was with my grandmother. I had this strong urge to go home. I should've listened to my gut and went home. They did their best. I couldn't save them", he says with tears in his eyes.

I held his hand tighter but then Christian and the others walked in.

"What's wrong Leo", asks Lily

"Oh no, it's nothing. Just reminiscing", he says as he wipes his tears.

"Alexandra and Dante will be a little late", Christian says while sitting down looking at me.

We casually chatted until they arrived. 15 minutes later they finally did.

"Sorry we're late", says Alexandra.

We ordered some sweets and started our discussion.

"Well. Josh your the writer. Alexandra and Leo are the leads. Dante and Lily can be in charge of props and I'll take care of the lighting. Is that okay?", he asks

"Sounds good", we reply.

"Any ideas on the story?", asks Lily

"Well the topic is love at first sight, it'll also be October. I was thinking of a Horror Love Story?", I say

"There are not many ideas you can get from that", says Alexandra.

"That's what makes it unique ", says Christian.

"Josh is amazing. I'm sure he'll come up with something amazing", Leo says while looking at me

"Are y'all dating?", asks Dante.

"Yes. He's my boyfriend.", Leo replies while casually sipping tea.

The rest of them stood there in shock.

"Oh, that's cool. A little guy on guy action. You do your thing", says Dante

"That's so hot", says Alexandra

"Congratulations you two.", smiled Lily

"Well, this is new. Congratulations Josh", says Christian.

I can see the pain in his eyes, this look. It's like the look of someone who's just been stabbed through the heart.

"Sooooo. I don't have a plot of the story. Help me?", I ask

"Adding a horror to a love story is hard", says Alexandra

"Two assassins were to kill each other and end up falling in love?", says Leo

"A guy falls in love with a girl and starts stalking her?", says Christian

"Meh", says Lily

"How about, the first day of school. Guy sees girl. Guy falls in love with a girl when he sees her, the girl turns out to be a ghost?", I ask

"Wow. That could actually work", says Lily

"Yeah that does sound interesting", says Alexandra

"Then it's settled. I'll do the writing", I say

"You idiot! You fell asleep!", Alexandra says to Dante

"Yeah well you kept me up all night you know.", Dante replies

Alexandra's eyes then widened.

"Oh? Y'all are boning?", says Leo

"Oh crap", says Dante

"Really?", she says while smacking Dante

"Haha, y'all are really interesting people. I'm glad we're friends", says Leo

"When did we became friends", asked Christian

"Well, that's a given. We'll be spending time with each other a lot from now on. I guess it's safe to say we'll become friends", says Lily

"Well. Here's to a new friendship", says Dante.
