embrace the babble, the tower
of babel, lovewords that flower
in drawers of glass, hooves that clink
eyelashes bat through old green ink, flashing power
come smell the wild grass shorn away
and once you have, maybe you'll stay
with blazing gifts i'll dazzle you,
the sun is one, also some blue, and me, that day
my sweetest of sugary sighs
flutter your way , gaze not disguised
brown blossoms rest deeply on green
spy wild horses, and i am queen, desert surprise
enjoy our sameness, senses roil
now i'm fire, yes, you're my oil
like ice we sparkle, purest light
your words charm me in darkest night, my earth, my soil
the florette, created by jan turner, consists of two or more 4-line stanzas. rhyme scheme: a,a,b,a meter: 8,8,8,12 fourth line requirement of internal (b) rhyme scheme, on syllable 8. like the outgrowing of a small flower, the forth line of each stanza is longer, and enwraps the previous lines. line #4 requires an internal rhyme scheme that rhymes the eighth syllable with the end of line #3, and continues to add on four more syllables than the other lines so that the fourth line ends rhyming with lines #1 and #2.
