stones worth having
i know we have collected these too but beefier stones are in our dwellings and in our marrow in clusters and on their own i remember the two of us carrying carrying carrying stones i remember how it was that as stones are too considerable and uncomfortable to carry so can they be too tiny and fragile to be comfortable to carry carry carry we never take containers to contain stones somehow (why is that) we never seem to mean to pick up pebbles stones rocks but we do we always do your hoard is huge and consists of numerous little clumps parcels chains in the rooms of your palace on tables and shelves sequences of stones making sense in strings in your office being itsy-bitsy mountain ranges in your garden orderly geotic dumps mine are less but take up more space than i give small meandering and unsettled riverbeds stones on floors and in front of doors (i dust and soap and wash) on fish tank beds fluent and unwrinkled tiger eyes watch on verandas and balconies noting insects in a lazy laid back stoned way in pots with plants guarding watching on a stool in my kitchen sitting also together with a spattering of chatty vases on the table out back where we sit and read or catch the sun just lying down for a change and resting doing nothing like us and strange they stay neatly in their messy and harmonious jumble if one should be moved you would notice like you did when you moved castle we all looked for that one smallest stone (no bigger than a wad of gum) for weeks months i'm sure you still look out in case in case just in case (the loss of the stone we all have that) we have rules un-uttered on stones we may touch and love but we may and will not remove we gift stones we ask for stones that don't belong to us and we receive we receive and they look like this: baby humble insufficient mini shrimp and wee and they look like this: fat massive mature serious influential and huge holes make them interesting making them whole by chance holes have stones inside oh delightful miracle of miracles some more pebble perhaps some more stone
we never get enough of the talk of stones
