i love
how you love the church and the songs and the old nuns
and the rituals and the crosses and the german father
and the bishop and the songs and the church and the choir
and the songs and the old nuns and the church all over again-
your feelgood endless
(and how it makes you happy and how it makes you feel)
and how your ponytail thumps to the beat of jesus
(and how it sets you free and how it makes you feel)
and how you clap your hands and swing your hips
(and how it loves you back and how it makes you feel)
and how bright your teeth smile for the glory of your love
and i love
how you love it all
and every year my christmas is so fine for the joy it brings
from the joy of your joy
and your beautiful beauty just shines, girl, it just shines
and any friend of yours is a friend of mine

i think of the joke about the little boy who helped the nun across the road and when she thanked him, he said, my pleasure, ma'am, any friend of batman is a friend of mine. i love that joke, though i do not like jokes much at all. i think it is cute and sweet.
