Captain scarlet: We will destroy Unity city

On the move

With the Mysteronised interceptor destroyed and Rhapsody, Blue and the body of Captain Scarlet were brought back to Cloudbase and the angels were recalled.
In the sickbay, Doctor Fawn and Colonel White were watching over Scarlet, who was covered from head to foot in bandages. 
"How long before Scarlet is fit for duty, Doctor?"
"It's fantastic, Colonel! Even after that air smash it seems that he will have fully recovered in just 4 hours! He's indestructible!"

A few minutes later, Toshi and Machin arrived and Captain Blue greeted them.
"Hi, Machin, it's been a while. What codename have you been given?"
"Teal smiled as he shook his hand,
"My codename's Lieutenant Teal, with any luck I'll make it up to Captain"
Blue turned to Toshi, 
"Planning to steal anymore Angel aircraft?" she shook her head.

When Toshi had first tried to join Spectrum, she had stolen Harmony's interceptor in an attempt to show Spectrum that she was worthy to be an angel pilot. Instead, she and Captain Blue were almost killed by Captain Black, after that incident Toshi decided to make an official application to join Spectrum.

Suddenly Colonel White entered and everyone stood to attention. After explaining the situation, Blue spoke up.
"What I don't understand, Sir, is why the Mysterons attacked Cloudbase. They've never changed their target before."
"And they haven't this time, Captain - they still intend to destroy Unity city. But they intend to crash a Mysteronised Cloudbase on Unity city to carry out their threat. But we won't be here for them to Mysteronise!"

The Colonel turned to Lieutenant Green who was working diligently at the main computer.
 "Lieutenant Green, order Cloudbase control to stand by for a position change"
"S.I.G" Green replied.
"Hear this! Hear this! All aircraft to be secured all hatches battened. Stand by for Cloudbase position change"

Down in the engine room, Lieutenants Peach and Purple received their orders via radio,
"Lieutenants Peach and Purple, steer course 177 red, zero, four. Speed, fifteen hundred knots"
"S.I.G"
With those words, the massive atomic engines burst into life. Cloudbase heads for it's new position over Australia,
"Full ahead all engines. E.T.A Canberra, Australia 19.15 hours."

However, on Mars, Cloudbase's actions did not go unnoticed.
"The Earthmen's craft known as Cloudbase is moving it's position. You will spray the clouds through which Cloudbase will pass with D17 poison gas"
In the Martian city, Captain Black slid his black radio cap over his hair,
"The Mysteron instructions will be carried out" he replied.
Using a jet plane with a spray exhaust, the Mysteron agent was quick to carry out his orders.

Later, while Cloudbase was passing, Toshi and Machin were on their way to the sickbay to visit Captain Scarlet when the gas seeped through the vents.
Both fell to their knees, gasping and coughing. All over Cloudbase, everybody was struggling not to pass out.
"Sir... I... can't... breath" Blue coughed and the Colonel tried to contact the engine room, to no avail. 
"Emerg...ency! Emergency... stop... the..." with a final cry, both officers collapsed leaving Cloudbase defenceless.
