Chapter 18:"One of you?"

Jill's P.O.V:

"So when did you move out of your parents house?" I ask Liam and Harry laughs.

"I got this place about a year ago, with the intention of moving out. But me folks missed me too much and-"

"Sure Liam blame them." Harry smirks. "The truth is that little Liam can't stay without is mummy and daddy." Harry pushes his bottom lip out pouting whilst speaking in a baby's voice. Liam just mutters something under his breath and Harry laughs. I look around at the computer screens and refrigerated cabinets.

"I've always wanted my own lab but I moved around a lot growing up." I tell Liam.

"I think I'm ready with everything." Liam speaks from behind one of the many computers.

"Harry could you go fetch a suit for Jill?" Liam asks Harry.

"Sure." Harry mumbles walking out of the room.

"What exactly are we doing?" I ask a bit frightened.

"There are so many things I'm trying to figure out about you." Liam sighs walking over to me with a clipboard. "I was certain that getting you to jump off of that building would tell me whether or not you're one of us."

"One of you? A Phoenix?"

"Yes if any of us were to do that, we would have had the same reaction. Our wings would have saved us from falling."

"And that's what happened to me?"

"Yes but your wings are like nothing I've ever seen before." Liam looks me in the eye shaking his head. "They're brown and much bigger than they should be."

"So what are you saying? I'm not a-"

"I'm saying I don't know. I'll have to do a few more experiments on you, to find out whether you are one of us. If you're not then we have to find out what you are." He explains.

"You seem excited?" I question him with a slight smile.

"It's been a while since I was presented with a problem I couldn't immediately fix." Liam laughs a little. "Now I can understand why Harry was so fascinated with you."

"Harry?" I question.

"What about Harry?" Harry walks into the room.

"Um nothing I was just telling Jill you'll be helping out with the experiments." Liam lies and walks off to one of his computers.

"Um here." Harry hands me a puffy jumpsuit and I look at him questionably. "Put it on." He huffs annoyed. I take the piece of clothing from him.

"This is awfully big."

"Of course it's big it's mine." Harry tells me and the item of clothing instantly becomes more appealing.

"We all used to get confused and end up wearing each others suits and that caused a lot of confusion and fighting." Harry laughs a bit.

"So I created a fingerprint system so that each of us could have access to our own suits." Liam explains to me.

"I'm sure Niall's will be a better fit but he's not here so you'll just have to wear mine princess." Harry smiles an overly exaggerated smile at me.

"Wait Niall? He's one of you?" I gasp. Liam and Harry look at each other like they've done something wrong. "How many of you are there?"

"Lets just focus on one thing at a time alright love?" Liam smiles sweetly at me. "My room is down the hall. The third door on right. You can change in there. Come out when you're ready." I nod walking out of the lab.
I walk down the hall and notice a big picture of Liam and Danielle on the wall. I wonder if Danielle knows about this. She must know, she and Liam are dating for so long it must be impossible to keep a secret like that. I stop staring at the cute couple and walk further down the hall.
Liam's room is a lot clean for a bloke. This is the first time I've been alone since this morning. I have no idea what the hell is going on but I'm much too involved to walk away now. Besides I wanna know what's happening to my body.
Once I'm done removing all my clothes I step into Harry's suit, removing my pearl necklace before zipping it up to the top. The suit swallows my body and
smell of his cologne engulfs me. I look absolutely mad but I feel so warm and safe. Having no other shoes I slip my heels back on walking out of the room and back to the lab.
Harry bursts out laughing when he sees me.
