The Howler's

Chapter 4

     Katy learnt all the ways in the burrow, the hunting techniques and how to fight. It was the hardest day of her life. 

     Soon the day sped to a halt and it was midnight as Katy crept out of her bedroom when hearing the Wolves above. She wanted to see them, but no one must notice her. She was curious how they would react if she met them. She silently tip-toed down the round corridor with little lanterns hung for her too see, and climbed outside the entrance and exit to see the night world. She didn't suddenly get blinded she saw the world blue. All blue and white and... it was amazing. Katy stretched her mouth wide open into a smile. 

     Suddenly she heard wolves coming near from behind a holly bush. Three completely black wolves stepped out with blue glittering eyes. The smallest wolf trailed behind the two other bigger wolves. Howdy one said in Katy's mind. Katy fell back and crawled closer to the entrance of the safe burrow, terrified. No nonononononononononono! Don't leave pleeeaaase? We are extremely lonely. And it's a long time since finding a wolf person that can communicate with us! Katy astonished called in her mind back to them, Uhh so wolf people can communicate to wolves?  katy waited for a reply then the smallest one answered, No. Only special ones can, like YOU! katy just sat in the grass and then suddenly dashed into the burrow until she heard a voice in her mind from the wolves I'm having pups now!! arghhhhh! You c-can HAAAAVE ONE ARGHHH! katy ran outside again to see a female wolf barking ferociously in the grass. Three pups were born afterwards. A tiny runt lay there with pure white skin.

     Uh-oh we'll haft to throw that one in the river! One of the wolves barked pointing it's nose to the white runt No! I'll take that one! Katy screamed back. All the wolves stared then suddenly gave a slight nod and ran off into the bushes leaving the poor baby wolf lying in the grass squealing for milk. Katy thought it seemed weird that the female had wolfs without being in pain for an hour or so before her birth. It all happened too fast. She would haft to talk to Carter tomorrow.  

     Katy woke with a mouse dangling above her. Carter was holding the mouse griped in his fist. 

     " Wanna have some little kitty kitty kitty?" Carter teased as Katy bit into the mouse still being gripped in Carter's hand.

     Katy and Carter were becoming good  friends, and they both looked after SnowStorm the white wolf. a playful puppy. It was only 2 months after the investigation of the wolf communication. Though Katy couldn't communicate with her little puppy yet. 

     Suddenly an alarm blared all around the place quietly so that it wouldn't hurt the Wolf people's ears.

     "You have alarms!?" Katy hissed looking around for alarm thingy's. 

     " Don't ask now, COME!" Carter called back grabbing Katy's arm and running towards a place where Katy's never Been before.
