Katy gasped and flipped her hands to her head. What will they do now? To their master? Katy suddenly thought, he doesn't even know who she is. What was the point to respect him?
Katy hid a evil smirk, as she grabbed a lollipop swiftly from one of the tin cans and opened it up. She started sucking on it. Carter caught her and nudged her." What are you doing?!"
Katy kept sucking, and then, soon, she peeked from the top of the table, and saw, again, Carters dad, and careful flung the lollipop at him. It smacked him on the lip. Katy heard Carter chuckling. Yet, Katy's heart pounded hard. She was still un-experienced in combat, and Carter was only a dumb flea. Tooth could probably be buff and brain. Katy made a loud heavy gulp, allowing Carter to worriedly look over at her.
"D-dad, please, please don't hurt her, okay?" Carter stammered with a nervous voice." T-this is a joke...right? Please don't hurt us..."
Carters happy emotion drained from his face, replacing it with the color of a white sheet. Katy knew that Carter must know Tooth was very strong.
All Tooth gave was a maniac's laugh, with old aged cracks in it." You...actually think I would care if your hurt? I've been thinking actually (laughing even more) if you were erased from this world with your mother, I'd be much happier!"
Carter shivered, looking dead in his face. The sound of chuckling boots clopped over on the other side of the table. Katy's heart pounded faster. What should we do? Should we run for it? Should we hid-
"There's nowhere to go, m'darling," Tooth growled humorously." You can go to hell with your boy-friend as well. The more the merrier,"
So he is a mind reader! Katy panicked, her legs shaking. Suddenly in a flash-like movement, Tooth was standing right in front of them. He wore a black cloak and nothing more, baring his gleaming teeth, sharp and ready to bite.
They were done for, for sure. Katy looked up at Tooth, wide-eyed. Carter yelled." Dad GO AWAY, PLEASE!"
"I AM NOT YOUR DAD!" Tooth kicked Carter, making him gasp and cough blood.
"Carter!" Katy shrieked, stifling a sob.
Katy looked around, and then looked at the sharp-toothed grin from Tooth. Katy was soon filled with despise for him. Anger welled up inside her, when suddenly, everything in front of her was frozen. Even she was frozen. Only her eyes could move, swiveling around the room, panicking. Why couldn't she move? What was going on? Suddenly, she could see a brightly shining object, in the far left corner. It was in some trays of lollipops and cookies. There was something in the package. Katy felt like she needed to touch it. Or get it. But why?
Everything was un-frozen now. Carter, weeping in pain, Tooth, grinning upon Katy, and Katy, staring at the neatly wrapped package greedily. Katy prodded Carter hard.
"CARTER GET UP!" Katy hissed." GO FIGHT YOUR FATHER YOU WIMP! CRYBABY!"
Carters red and puffy eyes looked up at her. Tooth smiled even more. Carter stared at her than forced a smile. Shuddering, he got up, still shaky in the legs.
"Come.....get..me...you..you...SON OF A BITCH!!!" Carter roared, lunging at Tooth.
Thanks, Carter. I needed that time. Katy took off full speed lung at the tray, grabbing the package, which was wrapped in newspaper. She wrenched it open, to be blasted with an awful stench of garlic. Am I frickin VAMPIRE now!? Katy looked behind her, seeing Tooth easily dodge past Carters head first throws at him. Idiot!
"There is nothing special about your attack." Tooth laughed." You need a better strategy.
"Yuck! What's that stench!" Carter halted suddenly sniffing the air." That- that's garlic? YUCK!"
Katy suddenly understood. Wolves-men hated garlic. Katy grinned.
"GET A LOAD OF THIS IDIOT!" Katy yelled mid-air, smacking the garlic head first into Tooth, and dropping on the ground softly.
Tooth screamed horribly, thrashing around. Katy nodded her head over to the exit, and Carter followed. They knocked through carts and tables of candy, throwing open the doors hitting the clean air.
"To the hotel, NOW," Carter pointed in the direction of the starry hotel.
"Wait, Carter, maybe we should stay somewhere else for a while," Katy said." Somewhere he wouldn't suspect us to be,"
"The back-alley then," Said Carter, puffing for breath still running on the sidewalk." That'll be good, yeah?"
"S-sure," Katy hesitated at this thought." yeah, okay.."
They soon stopped at an alley way where it was deserted, with only pools of litter and soggy blankets. Carter picked up a blanket with disgust and threw it into a corner. Carter gazed into Katy's eyes. Katy blushed. Why?
"That's all we have," Carter sighed looking away and sitting down on the blankets.
"Hey- Carter," Katy said, Carter looking up at her." Thanks. Thanks a lot. You- you helped big tim-"
Carter was standing up now, hugging Katy. Tears were dripping from her eyes. Why did she haft to get in this mess? Even becoming a wolf? She wished she were just in the safe high school, with her family, but she couldn't, they were dead now. Katy never understood how she eased through living like this.
"It's okay, Katy," Carter whispered." Can you get me dinner?"
Katy threw Carter off him, laughing and rubbing off her tears.
"Yeah, okay goof," Katy walked out of the alley, for some mice.
