Recap: iniwan nilang lahat si Maine at RJ para magsabay ang dalawa papuntang Laguna. Maka-graduate na kaya si Meng sa Pabebe Academy? Anong breezy moves kaya ang baon ni Tisoy mula sa University of Hokages (balita ko cum laude daw siya 'don 👀)? Abangan.

Sa loob ng sampung minuto, naka-limang tanong na si Alden at naka-limang sagot din naman si Maine-- puro isang salita nga lang.

"Kumain ka na ba?"

"Oo," sagot ni Maine nang hindi tumitingin sa kanya.

Contrary to her answer, Maine's stomach decided to humiliate her by growling. Alden glanced at her sideways, looking slightly alarmed. "Ikaw 'yun?"

"Hindi ah! Makabintang 'to!"

"Eh sino 'yun, dalawa lang naman tayo dito?"

"Baka ikaw?"

"Maine, I think I'd know if my body produces that kind of a monstrous sound."

MAKA-MONSTROUS SOUND KA NAMAN KALA MO TINATAGO KO MGA TAGAPANGALAGA NG DRAGON BALLS.

"Kumain naman na talaga ko," she muttered. "Pero tatlong kagat lang sandwich. Wala talaga ak--"

"--gana sa umaga, I know." He pressed on the brakes as he glanced at her, smiling slightly. "Wala kang gana hangga't hindi ka pa fully gising. McDonald's drive through tayo?"

"Now na?"

"Ay hindi, mamaya pa."

Maine threw him a dirty look and huffed, crossing her arms. "Fine."

"Anong fine? Fine drive through tayo o fine galit ka fine?"

"Both."

He threw her a worried glance as the car started moving again. "Uy, joke lang yun. Sorry na."

"Fine."

"Okay ka lang? Sorry ulit."

She slightly peeked at him and then concentrated back on the road as if she was driving. "Bili mo na lang akong pagkain para bati na tayo."

Alden sighed, hands maneuvering the steering wheel. "Okay. Ano ba gusto mo?"

"Nuggets, coke float, burger, fries."

"Ayaw mo magkanin?"

"Wag na."

When they reached the drive through station, Maine shot up and almost bumped her head as she realized something. "Hindi tayo pwede mag-drive through!"

"Huh? Bakit?"

"May makakakilala sa'yo!"

"Oo nga pala," Alden frowned and stopped the car. "Pahiram na lang ako ng shades mo."

"Kailan pa naging effective na pang-disguise ang shades?" Maine unbuckled her seatbelt, and stood, crouching. "Palit muna tayo. Mamaya ka na lang magdrive ulit."

"Sigurado k--"

"RJ! Gutom na ko! Dali na!"

Momentarily stupefied, Alden robotically moved and switched seats sideways as Maine transferred to the driver's seat and he to her previous place. She struggled, lest she hits his face with her butt (but hindi naman siya magrereklamo kung sakali.)

So to put her at ease he placed his hands on her waist, steadying her, and finally they were able to settle down.

Maine huffed and took her hair out of its bun, luscious waves tumbling over her shoulder that Alden had to cast his eyes away. Samahan mo pa nang tamang tama lang ng unang sinag ng araw, parang nakakita na siya ng diyosang nagkatawang tao.
