Neither of us spoke. I wanted to ask him so many questions but I knew it would make me sound like some desperate, worthless girl.

After a while of listening to nothing but the sound of cold water dripping down to the ground, Neil let out a chuckle. It soon developed into a loud, mocking laugh. I clenched my fists, wanting to send a punch his way, then and there.

"Why?" I seethed, my nails piercing my skin and drawing blood. I narrowed my eyes at the filthy mage before me who found god knows what funny.

"You made it so easy," he grinned. It was one of those horribly creepy grins that made me want to throw up .

"What the hell are you doing, Neil?" I questioned.

I was exhausted. I was still weak because of the cuffs that had sucked out most of my power and my mind was a mess, too jumbled up by all these surprises I had been receiving.

"I'm only doing my job," he shrugged. His grey orbs were darker than usual. There was a storm brewing in them. Like one of those terribly sadistic tornadoes.

"What about Naomi? And Takuro Town? You're their only wizard! And you chose to join a dark guild?! Wh-" He clicked his tongue, annoyed and cut me off.

"Shut up already. What's with all these questions. Don't tell me you've fallen for me," he burst into another fit of laughter, his hand swiping his hair back and his monstrous grin returning.

"Lover boy won't be happy, Y/n."

"Shut up! Answer me!" I growled.

"First you tell me to shut up and then demand an answer. How bad did you hit your head?" He chuckled, his grin simmering down to a smirk. I couldn't retort back as a sudden crash disturbed us. There was a hole in the wall of the cave which welcomed in a flood of smoke.

"I will destroy you!" A high pitched voice screamed. The smoke blocked my vision, and before I knew it, my hands were behind my back, held toegther in a harsh grip. Neil held my arms so tight that I was sure it would leave a bruise.

"I'm not losing to you," Another voice growled.

The smoke grew thinner, displaying the familiar green haired rune mage and the crazy, candy haired chick.

"Fre-" Neil's hand slapped my mouth shut and all I could do was squirm in his strong hold. Before the two could see us, the red haired mage pulled me behind a wall. I pushed him off me and got out my dagger, holding it to his throat. His stormy grey eyes darkened and his glare was enough to show me that he was not the person that I thought he was.

"You're gonna die." He spat, sweat beads beginning to cover his forehead.

"I don't think so," I growled, before stabbing him in the foot. He screamed at the sudden attack and threw me back. I scurried away before he could get to me and took my stance with the twin daggers.

He pushed himself up with the help of the wall, and tried his best to scare me off with a glare. I smirked, knowing that I had an advantage because of his injury.

I glanced down to his foot, noticing the dark crimson blood stain his boot. The pang of guilt that I felt was pushed aside as soon as it appeared. I drew my eyebrows in, readying myself for anything he threw at me.

"Shadow make: Sword!" Neil yelled, summoning an enormous blade in his hand that was made purely of shadows. The very same magic that I used. But at the same time it wasn't the same. It was more like-

"Kira," I whispered, finding myself even more confused. How the hell did he have the same magic as her? I clearly remember her telling me that even if the type of magic is the same, it will vary for each person. Even if they are all taught by the same master. But what I saw just now was without a doubt, Kira's magic.
