That spell took a lot of our energy. We panted, falling to our knees as the smoke cleared. The explosion was a massive one; our spell rushing in and destroying everything in sight. The cave walls had crumbled and there was an enormous hole in the ground, revealing harder, larger rocks below.

Laxus had taken cover at the right time and didn't seem to be injured. But the guild's leader...We didn't know what happened to her.

It was all a hazy gray screen before us from the smoke spreading throughout the place.

"Good one," Laxus commented, giving us a two finger salute. Freed found that compliment to be an extremely important one and nodded vigorously, light pink dusting his cheeks.

"I can't believe we did that!" I stared at our hands in shock, a smile spreading across my face.

"Yeah," Freed murmured, his sea blue eyes wide.

"Take it easy, though. You're injured and now this attack; it must have drained a lot of your energy. Don't tackle head on, and think of strategies that take yourself into consideration," Laxus advised, Freed paying attention to every single word that came out of his mouth.

"Spoken like a true leader!" I chuckled, giving him a thumbs up to which he scowled playfully. He had changed, for sure. The lightning mage wasn't a hot tempered grouch anymore but a slightly friendly, playful big brother; not only to me but also Freed.

The green haired rune mage didn't think of Laxus as a king to be followed but a friend and a leader that he wanted to support and help. They were mumbling to each other, Freed's face nearly erupting, with fumes coming out of his ears as he turned into a vibrant shade of scarlet. Laxus smirked at the rune mage, whispering things to him that worsened his condition. I decided to let them be for a while, and walked into the smoke, trying to spot Hex.

"Y/n!" I heard Freed call, worriedly.

"I'm alright!" I yelled back, making my way through the thick gray plumes. I heard their footsteps not too far behind me, hurrying to catch up to me.

When observed from far, the smoke didn't seem like much but once we entered it, we realized that it was just as puzzling as a labyrinth.

Was our attack really this powerful?

A jolt of pain ran through my toe as I hit my foot on a rock. Mumbling  profanities under my breath, I waved my hand around in an attempt to clear the smoke but it was futile.

Before I could even react, Hex had grabbed me by the arm and pushed me down to the ground, releasing what looked like chains from her palm.

That spell that I was so familiar with. One of my firsts taught by Kira to help me with self defense. And I was now trapped in it myself, for the second time.

That uncanny feeling returned, given out by the magic of my enemy.

"Y/n!" Freed cried, Laxus beside him.

"Sorry to inform you lads, but sweet, little Y/n here has agreed to come with me," she said, grinning at me sickeningly. It was nauseating.

"The attack- it didn't...But how? You- "

"Tch. Stop muttering nonsense, Green. Come on, Y/n. These people aren't worth our precious time. Let's go and live happily in our new home. It will be the ideal family. You, me, Neil and Naomi. Don't tell them this though, I consider you to be my favorite. We can invite Green with us as well. If that's what you want, I will not go against you. You are my lovely daughter after all."

"Never," I seethed, squirming in her shadows' grip. "We aren't family. No matter what you say or do, I will not come with you and live in a pathetic home with some psychotic old woman!"
