"Honestly, you guys, ouija boards dontwork." Kageyama snapped, crossing his arms.

It was the night of halloween, and the boys decided against going trick o treating against the will of the others. Oikawa had nearly thrown a fit after strutting in, dressed and ready for a 'fabulous' halloween. Bokuto had already dragged out his ancient board, the dust clinging to the cheap cardboard cover, and they opted to stay.

"Bokuto-san, you look like an idiot." Akaashi placed his chin in his hand, quirking an eyebrow. His eyes followed Bokuto, who held the planchette up to his left eye, sprinting back and forth around the room claiming he could see shadows.

"Y'Know, Bokuto, the shadows you're seeing are definitely not spirits." Kuroo laughed. "They're literally just normal shadows."

Bokuto whipped his head around, his owl like eye magnified in the murky glass. "Shh, I think I heard a ghost..." Kuroo burst out laughing, smacking his forehead with his palm.

"Bokuto-chan, i think i did too..." Terushima said, faking suspicion as he looked around slowly. He grinned and stuck out his tongue to Kageyama, he looked away as he rolled his eyes. His tongue ring, which stood out on his tongue, was changed to a pumpkin piercing for the season.

"Really?!"

"No." Akaashi and Kageyama said simultaneously.

"Pfft, whatever. Just watch, we'll show you it works." Bokuto huffed, gesturing to Kuroo and Terushima, who placed their hands on the board with him.

"You ready?" Kuroo asked, and Teru nodded and Bokuto did too. "Come spirits, in the air, and speak with us if you dare. In a place where no life survives, in a place evil thrives. Now, I call you to the board, to talk to us through this glass. Now, for the living shall pass." His voice deepened, solemn and slow. He enunciated each word, and he took on a brand new air.

Kageyama felt a small shiver pass through him, and he glanced to Akaashi anxiously. Akaashi stared off into space, his expression frozen in an uninterested way. Kuroo kept on speaking as they circled the board with the planchette three times counter clock wise.

"Spirits... Speak to me." He said, and they dragged the piece to the center. "Is anybody there?"

Bokuto let out a long sigh, as if he was holding his breath, and the three stared intently at the board. Kageyama, too, was captivated by the glass for a moment due to the hypnotic way the ritual began.

After a few moments, Terushima's shoulders relaxed and slumped forward. "Huh. I thought something would've happened by now?"

"No, nothing would've happened by now because it isn't real-" Akaashi lifted his head from his palm and rolled his hand out palm up just as the piece skittered to yes.
