My first day at college. I was absolutely nervous and scared. I didn't know what people would think about me having a two month old child and not even having a job. I lived off of Beck's generous father, who only supported me because I had his son's child.
He paid for the expensive stuff that Zeus needed. Since, neither Beck or I had a job yet. We had to move out to Houston, Texas just to go to college. Both Tisha and I applied to the same college and both got in.
Beck and Dave were also in Texas with us, but we all didn't go to the same college. Oh, Oliver paid her way into the college we went to, because she wanted to keep an eye on me. We both know she only did that, because she couldn't get over the fact that I had a baby for Beck. Heather stupidly joined her and went to college with us.
In my opinion, it was stupid to go to a college you didn't want to go. They were only doing this to spite us and it wasn't working. I honestly didn't care. My goal was to be an independent woman, have my own stuff and to take care of my child.
"This is cozy, not big, but cozy." Tisha exclaimed, placing her bags down onto the floor. I pushed Zeus' stroller and entered the dorm, where we would spend most of our days. I had to request a room in the back, because I didn't want to wake anyone up with Zeus' crying.
"Hopefully, Zeus doesn't cry as much as he did last night." Last night I got no sleep, because Zeus was being cranky.
"It's a good thing you and Beck can co-parent and decide when you can have him and when you can't." She said, rolling my bags inside.
"Yeah, but with our schedules we'll have to change that." I sighed. "When will the crib and other stuff come? He can't just be in a stroller all day."
"Yeah, cause we don't want him to get flat head." I rolled my eyes at Tisha and she chuckled. "It is a thing, though."
"Really?"
"Yeah, if they're on their back too much they can develop a flat head. But, when you go to the doctor he'll tell you what to do. I watched it on Jane the Virgin."
"Oh, yeah. When Mataeo got flat head and had to wear that sumo helmet for like three months." She nodded, unzipping the bags.
Our room consisted of about four rooms. There was the bathroom, the bedroom, the kitchen and the living room.
The bathroom was pretty spacious for a dorm. The bedroom had two beds inside in each corner, a tv and two closets. The kitchen had a little table in the corner on the right and the basic kitchen stuff. The living room, which was basically the foyer, contained a large couch, a tv, a coffee table and then a runway to the door.
"It isn't too bad in here." I commented, after checking out the rooms.
"Yeah," she agreed. "Let's just hope it has enough room for all this baby stuff you have." She pulled out packs of diapers and wipes. I giggled and began to help her pack things in their rightful place. That was until Zeus started to cry.
I rushed to him and gently took him out of his stroller. I held him in my arms as he got fussy and looked for his blanket. I placed it over his face and over my right breast. I pulled my breast out of my bra and began to breastfeed him.
"It's so weird seeing you be all mommy and shit." She said, plopping down besides me. I scolded her for cursing around Zeus. "You're acting like he can talk."
"Yeah, but what if he grows up thinking that's his name. I'd feel like a horrible mother and it's no better he's around the two bimbos Heather and Oliver." I sneered.
"Isn't Dave always around when Zeus is by his father? You have nothing to worry about. Hopefully, you can get over Beck and live your life."
"Hello? My life is in my hands." I gestured to Zeus. She laughed and shook her head.
"He's apart of your life, he isn't your life. Now, hurry up, we have to get our schedules."
When Zeus fell asleep I had strapped him in his stroller and covered the revealing parts of his stroller with a blanket. We headed to the main office, where I had bumped into this man. He didn't look like a student, because he looked mature and he was carrying a professional bag.
A Greek god looked up at me. His chiseled face showed the beard he was attempting to grow. His chocolate brown eyes held so much emotion as he started at me. He had the typical dark brown whiff that every guy seemed to be rocking. His olive oil skin gave away that he was outside a lot.
"Sorry about that, but welcome, ma'am. I'm Professor Moss, I hope your child has a great experience here." He began to walk off, but I stopped him.
"I'm actually enrolled here and this is my child." I had lifted the blanket up a bit, so he could get a glance at my baby.
His eyebrows raised in curiosity. "You're enrolled here and you have a child? How old are you exactly?"
"Eighteen." I said, kind of embarrassed.
"No offense, but you threw your life away. If I were you I wouldn't have been such an idiot." Shock took over me as he waltz away. How could someone be so rude about something they knew nothing about. I knew I would get judged by the students, but by a professor too?
I groaned and pushed my way to the front of the counter. Tisha handed me my schedule and I turned around.
"A professor just insulted me for having a child so young."
She looked at me as if I was crazy. "Some people have no respect nowadays."
"Tell me about it," I growled. "Anyway, let me see your schedule."
We scanned our schedule and I noticed that we didn't really have any classes together, except for Math. We basically had class at the same time. On Friday she had class all day and I was free Friday. But, she was free Monday and I wasn't.
"This isn't that bad. I can watch Zeus for you when I don't have class, if you want."
"I really do appreciate that." I gushed and she smiled. "What are best friends for?"
We headed back to our dorm and I was surprised to see Dave and Beck waiting for us outside. Dave greeted Tisha with a kiss.
"What's with all the boxes?" I asked, taking out my key and jamming into the spot. I turned and opened the door for us to go in.
"We're going to build the crib, play pen and swinging chair thing for Zeus." Beck answered and I nodded. "So, liking college so far?"
"No, some professor told me that I threw my life away having baby Z." I poured, looking at my baby.
"Don't listen to them. We both know what a joy Z brings to you and how much we love him." I gave him a sly smile, as he pushed the boxes into the room.
Dave and Beck began to put the furniture together, whilst I went to take a little nap with Zeus.
Hey, guys! I'm back and I hope that you guys like the book so far. I really will try to be more detailed and to use more words instead of smiling and grinning. I feel like I use those words too much.
But, anyway, who likes how Milan and Beck can be civilized and not go at each other like most teen parents do?
Do you guys think Professor Moss was right for his comment?
