Liza: WHAT!?!!!!!
Mom: Hi honey, how are you?
Liza: LOOK MOM I REALLY DONT HAVE TIME FOR SMALL TALK RIGHT NOW, WHAT DO YOU NEED?!!!
Liza POV: Just then, I got another contraction, which is not great timing because I'm really trying to hide the fact that I'm in labor from her. I start to feel it come on and Gabbie ( being the good friend she is) grabs the phone and covers for me as soon as I shove it towards her.
Liza: OW!! I uh......I mean.....here talk to Gabbie!!!
Mom: oh uh....ok then...
Liza POV: As soon as she grabs the phone I grab onto David as he rubs my back, and I dig my face into his chest crying and moaning through the contraction. "Shhhhh Liza, I love you and I'm here for you...it's almost over..it really is." David says as he kisses my head over and over, making me feel calm.
Gabbie: WELL HELLO MRS. KOSHY!! How've you been?
Mom: Uh....I'm fine honey, now can I please speak to my daughter again?
Gabbie: Ummmm, she's a little busy right now, but she won't be long...
Mom: Hmmmmm, uh ok...I guess....what about David? May I speak to him??
Gabbie: No, he's busy too...but uh I can tell you a joke!!!
Mom: Gabbie I-
Gabbie: Oh come on! Ok ok...why did the cookie go to the hospital?
Mom: Sweetheart you-
Gabbie: Because he felt CRUMMY! Good one right??
Mom: I suppose...
Gabbie: here's another!! What do lawyers wear to court??
Mom: I don't know Gabbie..
Gabbie: LAWSUITS!!! Wasn't that good?!
Mom: Gabbie, honey, I love you to death...but stop...I want to speak to my daughter and her boyfriend NOW!
Gabbie: Okok!!
Liza was just composing herself from her last contraction, so it was just at the right time that Gabbie came running in and handing the phone to David.
David: Well hello Mrs. Koshy, what a lovely surprise to hear from you!
Mom: You as well David...so you want to go ahead and tell me what you and Liza are doing??
David: Oh uh...Liza and I are currently.....uh.......COLORING! Yep Liza and I are coloring.
Gabbie mouthed "WTF?!" With a laugh to David and Liza.
Mom: Really!? Because when I was on the phone with your lovely friend Gabbie...I heard Liza in the back and she sounded like she was in ALOT of pain. Are you abusing my daughter David!? I thought you were better than that! I-
David: OH NO MA'AM...I WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHI-
Liza heard this through the phone....
Liza: WHAT THE HELL MOM!?!? NO DAVID ISNT ABUSING ME!! HE WOULD NEVER HURT ME!! YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT IM DOING RIGHT NOW??!
Mom: YES LIZA I DO!
Liza: Well...if you must know....IM IN MY 16th HOUR OF LABOR, HAVING MY WATER BROKEN!! YOU HAPPY NOW!???!
Mom:Oh...Liza honey!! I'm so sorry I didn-
Liza: Don't play that shit with me! You know damn well that's why you called!
Mom: Liza....I just want to make things right with you..
Liza: well David and I aren't ready for that yet...I told you to leave me, David, and our kid alone, can't you just respect that!? It's gonna take a lot more than a phone call to make things right between us..
Mom: Ok...well it was nice to hear your sweet voice again..
Liza: mom....just stop!
Mom: Ok...bye
Liza: bye.
Liza POV: "David....I'm sooo sorry she accused you of something so awful.." I said crying. "Oh honey that's ok...it's not your fault." He said hugging me and putting his hand on my belly, feeling the baby kick. "I just don't know what to do anymore..." "Don't worry about that right now hon....it's just not worth it." "Ok" I said as he leaned in and kissed me. "Thanks for covering for us Gabbie, even though your jokes sucked dick!" David says with a laugh. "Shut up David!" Gabbie says flicking David off. "Shut up David? That's your best comeback?!" David says chuckling. "Fuck you David.." Gabbie says walking away. By this point I was dying laughing, their fights were so funny. She comes back in a minute later with Tina and hands me a glass of water. "How do you deal with him Liza?" Gabbie says with a chuckle. "I really don't know sometimes.." I say laughing as David pulls me in close. This is the one moment in my labor so far, where I'm not worried about what's coming next, I was just enjoying this time with my baby, my boyfriend and my best friend.
