AVO || Him

How many years does it take for people to forget? Or is it months? Or weeks. Even days. How many does it take? Or maybe we don't forget at all. Maybe our brain doesn't work like that.

We don't forget. We just simply accept things as they are. We move on from it without completely forgetting what happened. Because in those experiences lies a lesson. A lesson we should learn and remember.

I never forgot. Not even a single scenario. Our first meeting at a classroom, the ridiculous deal we made with each other, the necklace he gave me, the dance we shared during prom, the way he said his goodbye at the beach. It was still fresh in my mind like it only happened yesterday.

It was a tradgic ending, with what happened between the both of us. It was inevitable that he was going to disappear and I accepted it. The promise he made saddened me. How can he return when he's gone?

What happened was in the past. Now, I'm living in the present. I learned from my mistakes. And my mistake was to let the time I have with the person I love slip through my fingers. Never again will I do that.

"Good morning, sleepyhead." I whispered in his ear. The manly aftershave he used last night entered my nostril and I cuddled closer to his body. How can he still smell this good?

"Five more minutes, baby." he muttered and shifted to wrap his arms around my small frame.

"You said the same thing five minutes ago. Wake up, we still have work. You have work." I looked up from my position to see him with his eyes closed. Adorable jerk.

"Sam!"

I remembered meeting him in a coffee shop with his nephew, Kevin. It was a long time ago. Kevin is all grown up now. He started showing teenage behavior but he was still the same sweet boy to me. Except for Sam.

Sam opened one of his eyes and stared down at me, a smirk slowly appearing on his lips, "Why does my name sound so sexy when you say it?"

I slapped his chest and tried to get out of his arms, "Get up, Sam. I mean it or else you'll be cooking breakfast forever."

His chest vibrated as he let out quiet chuckle, "I'd like that. Cooking breakfast for my queen."

I pouted and got up from his hold, "Wake up, Sam."

He groaned for a few seconds before sitting up with his eyes closed.

"What time is it?"

"Seven o'clock. You have one hour to prepare."

When he held my wrist, he pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around my waist as he stared up at me with a lazy smile.

"You look hot when you're being bossy."

I wrinkled my nose and narrowed my eyes, "I'm not being bossy. You're just being stubborn."

"I'm not stubborn. I just love you." His eyes were half open and his lazy smile widened when he said it. Cheesy jerk.

"I know you do." I smiled then leaned down to give him a kiss on the forehead.

"That's not the right way to greet me good morning." His lips pouted and while his eyebrows frowned.
