"Let me go." You said quietly. "Let me go, you good for fucking nothing traitor."
"You know her?" Hanji asked in surprise. "Wow, today turned out not that boring after all."
"Yeah." Levi said, still holding onto you. "She's (Y/N) Magnolia. Twenty two this year, right?"
"Let me go." You repeated.
"So, (Y/N)." Hanji started. "Usually, we'd hand you over to the Military Police to be dealt with, but your skills seem to be pretty good, considering you've never had any military training. How about joining the Scouting Legion? You'll be spared of your crimes, though I can't promise that would be the same if you refuse."
"Why let her choose? She's going to the surface anyways. You guys go first, I'm going to see if she has any other accomplices with her." Levi said.
Hanji shrugged, turning to the two other people. They shrugged as well before leaving you and Levi alone.
"You fucking traitor." You growled at him. "Let go of me!"
"If I let go of you, then you'll run away." Levi huffed before quickly switching his position, using his right arm to scoop under your knees so he was now carrying you. "Though I do suppose this is better."
"Let. Go. Of. Me." You said, but Levi shook his head, instead starting to walk.
"The surface is actually great, (Y/N)." Levi said, ignoring your protests. "There's not that damp smell as there is in here. You'll be much healthier up there."
"And why would you care?" You shouted at him. "You were gone for three years, and only now you decide to stroll back down here to see if I'm alive or not? You can't just disappear for so long and just come back pretending you care! What am I to you?"
Levi was quiet as he let you rant. You felt tears dripping down your face, but they weren't your tears.
"Levi?" You said softly.
"You're everything, (Y/N)." He said, his voice trembling. "When I was up there, I could only think, (Y/N) would like to eat this, or (Y/N) would find this beautiful. But I thought you were dead. By the time they let me roam around on my own, I thought it was too late. You were this small, fragile girl that I left behind. I didn't think you'd be able to survive."
"But I did." You murmured. "I'm not some weak little girl anymore."
Levi nodded. "I can tell." He said. "I can't just say sorry, (Y/N). Because I know sorrys won't work. But I'm going to take care of you up there, to make up for the years I didn't down here, I promise."
For the first time in what seemed like decades to you, you relaxed. You didn't fight back against him, and let Levi carry you.
"You owe me one, idiot." You muttered.
