Dawn's POV.
It's been over two month since Eke has been training me for the war. Not trying to brag, but I've aced all aspects of my training including sparring and learning about Astra Falls. Vincent was said to be one of the best fighter in Astra Falls, but while sparring with him I picked up a few tricks and I've become at least as good as him.

Our journey to the castle is in two days and I wonder if I'm ready to face the Queen. The only problem I have is my powers. I don't need the necklace to help me control it, but Vincent insists I wear it, just in case. New ones just pop up out of nowhere every day and I hope it's for the better and I can control it when it's time. Eke taught me all the spells from the ancient books of Astra and I'm quite certain I'm doing am amazing job memorizing them though according to her, my powers are such that I can create my own spells and my imagination helps too. We found out when during lunch one day when I protested silently about missing pizza and wanting to eat one and it appeared right in front of me, shocking her but after tasting it, she enjoyed it.

I had already laid out the outfit I would wear during the invasion. We were leaving early because the distance from here to the castle wasn't a short one and there were no shortcuts. All had been closed by the Queen according to Vincent and the ones that were still open were heavily guarded. The shortest route was through the heart of the kingdom but it was the most dangerous while the safest was through tunnels underground that went around the kingdom. We had decided to take the shortest and risk the dangerous beasts for fear of getting lost underground.

I picked the purse Eke had given me and put a spell book inside. I still needed it in case of anything. As I tried to close it, the zipper got stuck and while trying to fix it something fell out. It was the shell Kyra had given me. It glowed a light blue that I would have thought it was a trick of light if I wasn't looking closely. I picked the shell and held it in my hand. I wondered the worst scenario where I would need to blow it and a mermaid would come to my call.
I heard a light knock outside my door.
"Yeah," I called and Vincent peeked his head through.
"You ready?" he asked as he closed the door slightly.
"Yeah." I smiled politely and put the shell back in my bag then dropping it beside my bed. "Let's go" I said leading us both out of the room. There was no one in sight. Well it was late so everyone would probably be asleep except the leaders. I opted to call them that since Eke was one of them and she wasn't old enough to be an elder.
Vincent had offered to take me to see one of the most peculiar sights in Astra Falls.

I told Eke and she refused instantly so he did a lot of work persuading Eke to let me come and especially late into the night. He was a bit mad I told her, but when he asked me, he didn't say I shouldn't tell so I can't be blamed for telling her.

We slipped out of the cave once we were sure no one was around and he teleported us to a place I had never seen before. It's wide stretch of sand and huge mass of water signified it was a beach, but the oddest thing was at the edge of the river, it was illuminated with blue sparkles. As the calm waves came to the shore, it seemed to be carrying blue tiny dots that emitted light. They were like tiny stars in the water. Stars. Tonight the sky held a million. I had never seen the sky so full of stars in my entire life.

"Like what you see?"

"Love it." I said smiling sheepishly at him. He waved his hand in the air and I heard soft music playing around us, seeming to envelope us.

"May I have this dance?" he asked with a bow stretching forth his hand. I laughed at his formality.

"My pleasure." I said taking his hand with a courtesy. The music slowed into a slow dance and we swung around moving to the beat of the song. Then slowly it speed up to a waltz. I learnt it when I was very little in music school back when we moved to Los Angeles. That was the one school my mother let me finish my dance lessons before we moved again to Utah. He danced spinning me around so perfectly our body movements blending to the tune of the song. We stop after a while and lay down on the sand. We tried pointing out the different constellations we knew using our index fingers to joins the points. Then when we got bored, we played tag.
