I feel like I could sleep for a week after the long day I've had. When we got to the Gallagher house, Ian told Fiona everything that happened when I drifted off at the table. I woke up a few hours later laying in Ian's bed while he watched some tv next to me. I pretended to be asleep a little longer so that I could enjoy the moment a bit more.

"I know you're up." Ian said, Turing around to look down at me. "I can see you through the mirror." he explained while pointing at it.

I smiled for a second and stretched out, sitting up next to him. "Hey." I said, pushing my forehead to his.

"Hey." He replied.

Waking up like this felt great.
"So what's the verdict with Fiona?" I asked, not letting my worry show.

"She actually said you can stay but on a few conditions." He replied with a smile. "You have to help around the house and go back to school."

"School? Can't I get a job or something?"

"I told her you'd say that, but she wants you in school. Says you can do more with your diploma then dead end jobs and you only have this last year to graduate. You can catch up y'know."

He has so much faith in me. "School? I haven't been there these passed two months. There's no way I'm going to catch up this late in." I explain to him. It's my senior year but I only went for a week before Terry made me stop because 'school wasn't gonna do shit for me' according to him.

"I'll help you Mick. You can do it, I know you can." Ian tells me, so much hope in his voice. "It's that or the shelter we go. Together either way."

I can't do that to Ian. I can't see him in a shelter. "Would me going back make you happy?" I ask him shyly.

"Being with you makes me happy Mick."

That was exactly what I'd wanted him to say. I kissed him for a moment and laid back down. "School it is then." I said to him smiling. He laid back with me and starred at me as I starred at the ceiling. "How'd I get you?" I asked without thinking. "I'm shit of a person and somehow I got you."

All he did was smile at me and instead of giving an explanation, he simply said, "and you'll have me as long as you want me."

I looked over at him, over at this boy who knew me, and still cared, still wanted me. Before I could stop myself and my insecurities, I let out a whole lot of truth. "Can I tell you something?" I asked him.

"Anything, you always can." Ian replied.

"I think I love you Gallagher." I smiled and waited. Waited for the rejection I was so used to in my life, waited for him to be disgusted, waited to wake up. But none of that ever came. No rejection, no disgust, no dream. Instead I was met with a wide smile, I was met with a small laugh and a redheaded guy who seemed to adore me as much as I adored him.

Instead of all the negativity I thought I was going to get, I was simply met with an - "I think I love you too Milkovich."
