Jace's father met his son's eyes as he was talking. At the mention of having a supernatural mate his eyes tensed. He looked at the woman and evaluated her. He didn't have anything against supernatural but didn't approve of a human ending up with some sort of other person as a mate, "Fine, I will talk to your mother about this and call you back." He disconnected from the call and glared at the screen. Frankly he was not happy about this and didn't want them back in the house. If Jace came alone that was one thing. If the woman came it was something else.

If she didn't change to whatever her other form was he would deal with her being around. If she changed or Jace did he would be far less than pleased. To each their own unless it was his family. There were simply some things he didn't approve of and that was one of them. As far as he was concerned mating was just saying they wanted something different. It was warped and wrong. As far as talking to his wife he would consider it since Jace was their child.

Jace glared at the screen when his father disconnected, "Stupid insular self-centered man! I am not going to deal with him for the time being." He jerked out of the chair and swore under his breath, "Sorry Danal, some of my family have very strong opinions on who to marry. You and I would call it mating but they think of it as marrying. In this case since I didn't marry someone they would approve of they aren't going to be nice about it."

She stood when he did and caught him as he was stomping back and forth, "I not understand but you are mine and I am yours. We deal with this. Not quite sure what family is but I be here for you." Danal pulled him into a good hug and pulled his face down and kissed him.

He stopped when she kissed him and wrapped her arms around him. Before he realized it, she had changed again and her tail was curled around his leg, "So what is it with your tail and my leg? Is it feeling possessive or something?" He held onto her and finally made a decision, "We are going to Holcum's Pride. I am not going home and I am not going to sit here and be a bitter brat. I am going to enjoy my leave and show my new mate a good time."

When he asked her about her tail she tried to resist biting his shirt but wasn't successful, "Helps feel mate. Contact good and lets me know you." She let go of his shirt and was glad she hadn't left teeth marks. He seemed to dislike her leaving teeth marks on his not fur, "Good, mate cared for by Holcum. Want to meet others who care for mate." Danal was working on learning how to talk but it was going to take her time.

Jace wanted to groan when she bit his shirt again. If she insisted on biting clothing it was going to be an interesting three years at the academy. When he looked, he was pleased that there weren't any teeth marks though there was a damp spot, "So my holding you isn't good enough? Gotta get the tail involved?" He grinned before letting her go, "I need to grab my stuff and then we need to check out of the hotel." That didn't take that long since most everything was packed. Once he had his stuff packed he grabbed it and was getting ready to leave.

She wasn't sure what his emotions meant. He wasn't upset and seemed slightly amused. What did that mean? Eventually she would understand since she was learning every minute she was with him, "Tail like leg. Problem?" It was a question and she sounded uncertain when she spoke. As he started pulling stuff out she watched and wondered what all was in the bags. Later would be time to see. Once he had everything she leaned against him and phased out.

Before Jace could really say anything, he found himself standing next to Holcum at the ticket counter. He didn't want to make her feel bad so he tried to think at her, *Danal don't do that again unless you ask. We did need to check out of the hotel. We also needed to see about tickets for the flight to Holcum's Pride.* "Hey Holcum, I decided to come to the Pride. Someone decided to bring us sooner than later..." He tried really hard not to make a joke out of it.
