As Nacy rolled out of the bunk she paused to stretch. When she did she felt Kyrill move behind her and wrap his arms around her. With a smile of contentment, she leaned back against him and relaxed for a brief moment before starting to get ready for the day. It had been a busy year since they had arrived. The four of them had just come back from the six-month break. The visit home to the Pride had been very enjoyable. Seeing their family had been enjoyable. Hers had flown out as well.
She did feel bad for Jace since he hadn't spoken to his parents since meeting Danal. He had been in touch with his siblings and some distant relatives. Neither of his parents had even tried to contact him. They had talked but she didn't realize just how restrictive they were. There wasn't anything wrong with ending up with a supernatural mate. It was on the lawbooks as completely legal. It was as legal as LGBT marriages and relationships. To each their own though. It was their loss since Jace was worth knowing. Danal as well though occasionally she acted a bit odd.
"Morning love, come give me my morning kiss." She pulled Kyrill to her and gave him a good kiss before leaning against him briefly. Once she let him go she pulled on her flight uniform. This morning she was scheduled to run a sensor scan of one of the nearest collections of wreckage. It was one left over from the wars. There had been some indications that some of the scrap was starting to drift away from the area. If so they needed to verify this and where it was potentially going to end up. Once they knew the trajectories, ships would be dispatched to collect the junk after ensuring it was safe.
"Talk to you later Kyrill. Gotta go and have fun tracking junk. Next time maybe I will get to play with ya'll Cadet's." She grinned at him as he nipped at her nose for saying that. Over the last year, she had been working as part of the Opposing Force, OPFOR to help train the Cadets. It had been strongly suggested that she stop shooting the cadet's down for enjoyment's sake. This was to train them and not just improve your record of kills.
Her Flight Wing Commander had lived up to his orders that she receive additional training. She had started to understand what he had meant by being weak with teamwork. Even now it was hard to step back and let those assigned lead the fight. It didn't help that her cat, like most, was to an extent a solitary hunter. They were both having to struggle to work on including others when flying. They had improved but it was going to require more work. Her Flight Officer had been keeping a close eye on her and how she was progressing.
They had talked a number of times and he was pleased with her progress. The talks had covered how having a cat now impacted on how she flew. They had carefully dissected each training scenario and flight to help her understand how she could do better. It had taken her some time to come to realize he was doing this to help and not make her feel bad. Essentially, she was getting a graduate course in advanced fighter tactics and it was showing. When she was allowed to fly on her own she was deadly. Only the Flight Commander could challenge her and take her out. Others had shot her down but it wasn't consistent.
That was another thing the Flight Commander had suggested, don't make a habit of shooting down those who shot her down. It was bad for moral and would give her a reputation for being vindictive. If she did shoot someone down make sure it was reasonable and not in revenge. After thinking about it, she agreed with him. During her Cadet training it had been fun shooting Holcum down. Now it wasn't a good idea since it would cause problems with the flight wing.
Kyrill snagged her briefly once she was dressed and gave her another good kiss, "So sexy in uniform. I am beginning to see why Raven loves seeing Leo in his uniform. Fly safely love." He was dressed as well now. After pulling the curtains back both made a quick check of their section before she left for breakfast with Jace.
