Chapter 7 - Your cat is beautiful Nacy

Nacy had spent the last few weeks starting to learn about the Pride. She already knew a great deal but there were things unique to each Pack, Pride, or supernatural group. There was also the training where she was working to grow closer to her cat. It was hard since her other half was still sleeping but she was starting to wake which was glorious. As Nacy was learning about her other half she was also in training to learn about her new abilities.

First thing in the morning was training with the weight machines before combat training. Even though she was still changing she was far stronger than she used to be. That had become very obvious when she accidently snapped her tablet in half. She hadn't meant to but a muscle spasm hit and suddenly she was looking at two pieces. When she had done that she had ended up in a heap of crying woman.

Kyrill had felt her reaction and found her and held her as she wept and swore about destroying her tablet. It had been purchased for her by her parents when she had joined the Academy. It had been a very good one and she had been horribly upset when she had shattered it. Kyrill held her through the fuss before he explained it wasn't her fault. It was simply not Were compatible. Their tablets were constructed of reinforced metals and ceramics.

Raven had finally had to come in and comfort her about the loss. Everything had been backed up and Raven handed over a new tablet. It was from the same company but designed for Were use. She had told Nacy that she should have considered it and given her the new tablet before. After a while Nacy had sniffed and asked why she was so distraught.

When Raven explained, it was due to the change and surges in hormones Nacy gurgled a laugh. It was mixed in with something about if this was how it was going to be she might not want to go back to the academy. Raven had laughed and told her once the changes were done she would stabilize and all changed people went through much the same. Even Jace was going through his version of it.

As they were talking about Jace he was in a bit of a bind. Baraf had been teaching him how to phase but it hadn't gone quite right. Currently Jace was stuck half in and half out of a wall he had been trying to walk through. What made it even worse was several young Pride members were standing there staring at him. He had part of his chest, an arm, and his head sticking through the wall. He gave them a pathetic wave before there was a surge and he appeared back in the room.

Baraf, Paula, and Danal were laughing at him when they pulled him back. Baraf gave him a gentle pat on his shoulder, "Relax Jace, you are learning. This is why we are here. Walking through things as simple as walls, doors, even short range transports you won't get hurt. Actually as a qualifier normal walls and buildings you won't need to worry. If you get stuck just take a moment to regain your focus and then move. It takes time and chances are it's because you are tired. We have been working this morning, go eat lunch, spend the afternoon with Danal. The two of you need both the training and spending time."

Jace sighed as he stood, "And now I should probably go and talk to some traumatized pride members. Their fur is still probably standing straight up." He waited for Danal to stand before he walked out of the room, "Later and thanks for saving me from becoming a wall ornament." When he walked out he ran into Raven who was giving him an amused look.

"Jace do me a favor and don't get stuck again. Leo had one of those three in his office as she reacted to seeing a person half in and half out of a wall." She lightly patted him on the shoulder before giving Danal a light hug, "I was heading to lunch, shall we?"

He sighed, "Believe me I can still feel the shorthairs on the back of my neck standing up." He ran his hand over his crew cut and shuddered, "That was a very odd feeling. I could feel bits of me mixed in with bits of the wall. Not a good feeling."
