A/N: Hey, so this is the first Destiel OneShot and I'm certain that some more will follow. This one is based on a request of one of my best tumblr buddies. She asked for a fanfiction, where Castiel takes the song My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" from Fall Out Boy too seriously. Well, see what happens.

Castiel sighed out of sheer boredom. He wasn't used to being human and so he needed to get used to all of this. Usually when he got bored, he would just „zap" somewhere interesting, as Dean might say. He would spent hours of wandering through the oldest forests or watch the stars under a clear sky on some unknown island right in the middle of the ocean. Sometimes, when Dean had nightmares, which wasn't rare, he would take him with him.

Oh my god, there are millions of them" Dean said stunned. The sand underneath the hunter and the angel felt warm. "Yes, there certainly are. And all of them won't ever shine as bright as your eyes." Castiel said and turned his head to face Dean, who was now staring intensely at him. "Cas, what-" but before Dean could finish his sentence, Cas zapped them back and Dean would wake up on the next morning, thinking it was a dream.

Castiel always had a fear of telling Dean about his feelings. It never felt quite...right, with Cas being immortal and Dean a simple human being. Suddenly, Cas sat up straight from his bed as he realized it. Now, he wasn't immortal anymore. He could spent his now shortened life time with Dean, he was a human too. Castiel actually smiled at that thought.

He jumped out of his bed, only wearing one of Deans shorts as a pj, since he doesn't really have one. It never seemed like he might use one one day. As he reached the door of his own room in the bunker, he realized two other things: One, it was 4 in the morning, Dean is still sleeping and second, how do humans confess their love to others? He wouldn't fall asleep anymore, he really had troubles to do that, so he might as well find a way to tell Dean.

He walked around his room and searched for something, but he had no idea what exactly...just something helpful. As he couldn't find anything, he sneaked out of his room and went into the library. Maybe there was a book about it? He turned the lights on, and searched and searched, but gave up after about 30 minutes.

Sighing, he turned off the lights and went into the room they would use as living room and sat down at the table. Frustrated, he put his head into his hands. He needed to confess his feelings for Dean, but how? He looked up and looked through the room as he noticed Sams iPod lying on the table, a bit too far to be in his reach. He stood up and grabbed it. He closed his hands around it and tried to remember what Sam has said about music.

You know Cas, we humans listen to music when we feel certain emotions." Sam started to explain, while gesturing something with his hands. When we feel happy we'll listen to happy music or we feel, I don't know, heartbroken, so we listen to music with fitting lyrics, you understand?" Cas nodded, but his eyebrows were furrowed. Why would humans relate their feelings to music?

Castiel still didn't know why, but this was as close to an answer as he would get. After about 20 minutes he figured out how to play songs, and so he did. He saw the headphones hanging from it and grabbed the end of it to plug them into his ears, which turned out to be harder than thought. As he mastered that, he listened to some songs. He skipped a lot, but got stuck on a certain one. He listened to it over and over again, and it was just what he needed:
A way to confess your love to someone. As he was certain he got the instructions clear, he got everything he needed and sneaked his way into Deans room.

Deans POV

One moment, Dean was dreaming about his mother baking him some pie, the next moment he was awoken by the strong smell of smoke and a really hot feeling around his legs.
His eyes shot open in the sudden realization of fire, and as he saw his legs literally burning, he screamed. A very manly scream, of course. Jumping out of bed, he rolled around on the floor and the fire died soon after, it luckily wasn't a big one. He looked down at his now burned pj pants and the remains of his blanket. He was breathing very fast and it took him a long time to calm down. He had his eyes closed the whole time and his head resting against his bed.
He jumped a little as he heard a sigh out of his room. Immediately his hand drove underneath his pillow to grab his gun and he jumped up, pointing it in the direction of the sound source. „Who's there?" he stated, with a pissed tone. He saw nothing, since it was in the middle of the night. Through one of his windows was the moon light slightly lighting up a certain part of his room. The person started talking and as Dean heard the familiar voice, he lowered his arms and slowly put his gun back underneath his pillow. What the hell was Cas doing here?

„I didn't mean to scare you." Cas simply said.

„Man, you scared the living crap outta me! You better have a good reason for setting my damn legs on fire!?" Dean said, less angry this time, but more annoyed. Cas was sitting on the floor now and fumbling with the remains of Deans blanket.

„They said it's how-" Dean cut Cas off by speaking up.

„Woah, wait, who is they?! Cas, when you plan to betray us with some sons of bitches you better tell me now!" It was clear, that Dean got more pissed and annoyed with every passing second.

„No, the makers of that one song on Sams music player sang about it." Cas wasn't looking at Dean, instead he just focussed on the burned blanket as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. His voice was low, but had something of a child; he sounded so innocent. Dean couldn't help but laugh at it. He even bent forwards to hold his stomach, that's how hard the sorrow and innocence of Cas made him laugh, as if he just broke something in the house and his parents had a talk with him.

„Man, it's alright." Dean began as he sat down next to Cas. „What were they saying huh?" He asked Castiel, still laughing. Cas worried his under lip as he looked up to stare right into Deans sparkling green eyes.

„They said, or more sang, that's how you show..." Cas broke the stare to play with the blanket once again. Just as Dean said; a grown child.

„To show what?" Dean said, slowly getting impatient. Was is so important that Cas had to get all nervous about it?

„To show affection to someone." Dean froze. He stared at Cas with a confused expression. Did Cas just...just confessed his love to him? Could it be...? Dean was far beyond confusion, as he recalled, how Cas wanted to show it and once again, he burst out laughing. He rested his head against Cas shoulder as he continued laughing, but Cas looked broken.

„Dean." he said, but Dean wouldn't stop laughing. „Dean, I am completely serious." Cas said, and one could hear the sadness in his voice. As Dean was calm enough to talk he coughed out

„I know you are." Dean was impressed every single time when Cas managed to act adorable. He is thousands of years old but basically just a baby in a trench coat. „I know you are" Dean repeated. He grabbed Cas into an embrace and felt the burning hot cheeks of Cas against his chest, which made him laugh again. Dean placed a kiss on Cas' forehead, before he rested his head on his.
They were sitting on the floor in Deans room, at about 5am. His blanket was half ashes and Cas is now in Deans arms. They didn't said anything else, even though words were needed. Only a short time after, he could hear Cas snore slightly in his arms.Dean chuckled and played with a lock of his hair.

„I love you too" Dean whispered kinda inaudible. Dean found himself falling asleep too, so the two of them spent their night in each others arms, sleeping on the floor.
