It was a cold day in Allentown  Pennslyvania.  Mr. Hangler has been raising his daughter by himself was three years now.  His wife died three years ago in a car accident.  His daughter survived but, lost her vision due to the fractures that she sustains on her face.   The doctor work miracles, she was still a pretty young lady, she was only twelve, but now she was blind for life.

Mr. Jimmy Hangler had plenty of money, so Brook had the best care possible.  He found a good school that helped her to work around her blindness.

On one cold winter morning, Mr. Hangler had a physical.  He never likes going to the doctors, but he has been putting off for three years, and if he wanted to be around for his daughter, he needed to be healthy.

That morning Atty, who was Brook's, live in nursemaid. Had breakfasts ready for everyone. Brook went to the school for the blind three days out of the week.  Today was her stay home day.  Although it was cold outside, she always wanted to take a walk after she ate her breakfast.

The three went on these walks together but, today off to the doctor went Mr. Hangler.  So the ladies still took their walk together without him.   "So, ladies, I'll see you when I get back," he said as he walked out of the house.  "Dad, if you are able to, bring me some donuts back," said Brook as he was leaving. "Well, do, I'll see later," he said

He droved to the Doctor's Office, slowly.  He was hunting for an excused to do a detour.  He parked his car and headed into the building. He signed in and waited for his name to be called.

Everything went as planned, he had his whole physical and was about to head out the door, "Mr. Hangler, before you leave I must read you the results of your prostate exam you took two weeks ago.  When you went into the emergency room with severe back pain.  We pinpointed the source of your pain.  Please, I really prefer if you were sitting down for what I'm about to tell you." he explained in a sad voice.   "Wow, you are really scaring me.  It's something bad, isn't it?" said Mr. Hangler now with a sad frown on his face.

"I really don't like, god this is the part of my job that I hate the most," he muttered while he looked down to the floor.   "Look at me Doctor Ching, if it's hard for you to say it, image how hard is it for me now, waiting.  Here, that this, write it down, leave the room, then I'll read it if it's as bad I as read on your face, leave come back in the room for a while." Mr. Hangler said as he handed him a pencil and paper.   The Doctor quickly wrote something on the paper, handed it to him and walked out of the room.  Mr. Hangler held the paper tight, as tears ran down his face. "Wow, I should have never come here.  I have a bad feeling about this whole thing," he whispered as she slowly opened up the folded paper.  He finally opened it and read what it said,

"Sorry, Mr. Hangler but I must inform you that you have the third stage of prostate cancer.  I also need to inform you, that we caught it too late.  You have about four months of life left.  Again I'm sorry to give you such horrible news.  I can set you up for Kimo, but it's not guaranteed, that you'll get better."    He then let the piece of paper fall out of his hand and onto the floor.   "My God, while?  Why will you take me so early?  What about my daughter, please help me. Please, he prayed as he sat there with a hopeless feeling taking over his heart.
