Day turned into night and dinner time arrives. Jimmy has been playing games in the living with Brook waiting for dinner to be done. They were playing checkers, the board was design for the blind. It was made of wood with special carvings and chips. Atty prepares dinner, but the while she felt unease. She didn't know what was making her feel this way. She brushed it off as nothing. Dinner was finally ready, "You guys dinner's ready." she said as she went over to help Brook. "Don't worry, I've got her," he replied as he grabbed his daughter's hand. "You two do know I'm able to do this myself?" Brook replied as she sat down. They said a prayer, then began to eat. Brook didn't think about her eyes longer. To her, waiting for an organ donor was waiting forever. It was a chance of one in a thousand, and she was sure she wasn't that one. To Brook this subject was close.
Atty thought about now and then, but she didn't bring the subject back to the surface. Jimmy was a different story. He was determined to do whatever he had to. He ate his dinner every now and then he glances out the window then look at the time. Atty noticed this, "Are you waiting for someone?" he kindly asked
"No, not really. It's one of my buddies BDay. Some of the boys and I were planning on going to a pub and having a couple of drinks. So, it's getting dark, I'm going to get going. I won't be out late. I'll have just a drink or two and return home." he explained "Well, Father, don't drink too much, you can't drink and drive." said Brook who heard what he was telling Atty. Brook sense something was wrong in his voice. She decides that may be what happened to her eyes, made him feel bad. So she smiled as she spoke. "Don't worry, sweetie, I'll be back before you notice I was gone," he said with a smile as he grabs his hat and heads out the door.
Jimmy got in his truck and heading to the Willow's Pub. Before heading inside he gave Nathing a ring. "Ring, Ring" "Hey, it's me Jimmy." he said "What's up pop?" he said "Meet me at the Willow's Pub." he replied, "Why there?" Nathing asked "You have to see this. Just get over here." he said then he hung up the line. "Hey, dick head, hung up on me," Nathing muttered as he turned his SUV around and headed to one of the only two bars in town.
Jimmy was sitting at the bar, facing the pool table. To his super, the forty-year-old organ donor was playing a game and enjoying some drinks. He just couldn't believe that the world could be that small. He went into the bathroom and took out the datasheet, he took a second look at her picture, which helps him make a positive ID.
Nathing finally arrived. He walked into the pub and looked around for Jimmy. But before he saw Jimmy, he saw Lisa Ronnie, one of the organ donors on the last. Somehow he remembers her face. He did a double take when Jimmy spotted him and quickly walked up to him. "Hey, I see you see, what I see," he said as he patted him on the shoulder. "You ain't lying. What kind of creep shit is this?" Nathing whispered as they went to sit down at the bar. Jimmy order his friend a drink. "I told you, you were going to be surprised." said Jimmy "Did you know she would be here?' he replied "No, just a coincidence, that's all. So, what should we do? Wait until she goes home? Or follow her and take on the road?" he asked
"Boy, Jimmy you really thought this out did you?" Nathing asked with a smile. "Come on dude, no time for bullshit. What now?" he again asked "Let's wait and see how drunk she gets. If she leaves we'll follow. Enjoy your drink, cause I'm going to enjoy mine." Nathing said as he sat back and chilled enjoying his drink. Jimmy was kind of nervous. He never did anything like this before. His heart was beating fast, "Nathing, I'm going out to get some air." he said as he stood up and headed towards the door. "Do that, I'll sit here for a while," Nathing replied with a smile.
Then suddenly Lisa decided it was time to go home. So she paid her tab, gave him a smile, and walked out the door. Nathing returned the smile and walked right behind her, looking around making sure he wasn't seen.
"Hey, why are you leaving so early?" he said as he walked behind Lisa flirting with his sexy smile. "Well, I have things to do tomorrow. I don't want to wake up with a hangover." she explained "May I walk you to your car?" he asked politely. "Sure, why not," she replied As he walked her, Jimmy spotted him from across the parking lot. "Oh, fuck his a pro. Dude no way you'll be my son in law." he thought to himself as he glanced at Nathing giving him a certain look. He returned the jester and proceeded to rap to Lisa. The women found him attractive, as he walked her to the car, he was thinking about what to do. He knew there were in the open. It's not a good time to do something stupid.
So, "It's a shame, you must leave so early. I guess, now that you're gone, I'm heading home too." he said as he helped her into the car. "Well if you like, I mean that if you want, you may follow me home. I have a small bar. Maybe we can talk and get to know each other." he said with a sexy smile. Nathing returned the smile. "Sure, that sounds great. Are you sure?" he said "Of course. I trust you. This is a small town, believe me, if you do anything to me that I don't let you do, those cameras tell all." she said with a smile. "Cool, I'm an honor to be trusted. Give me time to start my SUV before you take off." he replied "Well, do." she said as she sat with her car on waiting.
When Jimmy saw him get into his SUV, he got a bit confusing. "Shit dude where are you going? Should I follow him? Shit, he should have given me the heads up. Fuck, I'm going to follow." he whispered to himself as he jumped into this truck and began to follow Nathing SUV. Lisa looked in her view mirror and when she saw Nothing's SUV moved towards her, she proceeds to drive towards her home.
She didn't see when Jimmy also pulled up behind the SUV. Jimmy followed his friend, trying to stay behind the SUV. He didn't want her to realize that he was also following her. When they got on the two-lane highway, Lisa made a sharp right turn. She suddenly spotted Jimmy truck. "What the fuck? This dude brings someone else along," she said as she quickly read over for her phone.
Jimmy realized she saw him and quickly called Nathing, "Ring, Ring" "Nathing I think she saw me." he explained, "I think you're right she keeps looking through the view mirror at me and I think she's call, someone. Fuck! She might be called the cops." said Nathing "What do you want me to do?" Jimmy asked "Drive by me. Act as though you were just trying to get by." he suggested. Lisa was having trouble getting a dial tone. She began to speed up when she noticed Jimmy truck drive by her. "Oh, shit, maybe I'm freaking for nothing, their not together." she thought, as she suddenly still looking at her cell, pull over to the left lane, not seeing them in coming truck. The large milk truck crashed into her car full force. Nathing who was in the other lane quickly stopped his car. Jimmy heard the loud bang, that he quickly pulled over to the side up ahead.
Lisa's car rolled into an embankment. The strong impact of the crash made her fly out the front glass head first. Nathing quickly turned his SUV back on and drove by the accident. Not stepping out of the car, he said the forty-year-old lady laying on the front of her car. "Shit, it looks like we didn't have to kill her after all," he muttered as he drove by, then got on the cell and called for help. The officer asked him if he saw what had happened. Nathing replied no, he just took that road and saw the aftermath. So the officer didn't ask him any more questions. Nathing quickly drove up to Jimmy's car and opened up his window.
"Jimmy you saw that shit?" he asked "Fuck, that was crazy. Is she dead?" Jimmy asked "It sure looks like she is, we can only hope. Look there's nothing else to do today. I'll call you tomorrow." said Nathing "So what next?" asked Jimmy "What next? Jimmy dude, the girl might be dead, go home and get some sleep. Tomorrow, we'll talk." said Nathing as he closes his window and took off.
"Wow, today has been a crazy day. But I'm so happy I didn't have to kill anyone. I might make it to heaven after all." he whispered as he jumped into his truck heading home.
