Cloud
I furrowed my eyebrows, a scowl at my lips as I step around flames. I hadn't visited this place in a while. With Nya beside me, I took the chance to examine her. Her hair was down, small waves accompanied the style as it breached her shoulders.
Faltering when burnt, I contemplated heading back. Yet stopped that train of thought as we reached the entrance to her throne room. I smirked as the doors opened by themselves, striding in and looking around. The chair in the centre was on fire, ignoring the rest of the area I headed toward it and seated myself. It was hot, but I could handle it. Nya smiled, crossing her arms in a smug fashion as she waited.
"Sydra," she said, gesturing the creature in the corner over. It growled but obeyed none-the-less, stalking in our direction yet watching only me. It hissed. The spikes at its shoulders flared, swiping its tail in a whip motion, a blade revealed at the end of it like a spear. Shifting in the seat, I curse when resting my hand on the blue flame. Blowing out, I smiled as the flames on either side of the chair split and flew elsewhere. The beast beside Nya advanced, she placed a hand on its spine as it got closer. The dinosaur-like face was a metre away and I was fearful it would show me what fire tastes like.
Hopping off the seat, I frowned and moved away. "What were you running from earlier?"
All the amusement erased the moment I mentioned 'running', she seemed at a loss of words. "I think something was chasing me, but I don't know what it was."
"Clearly, or else you'd have said what it was straight up," I chuckled, not at all affected by her panic. A lot of these situations had been occurring lately. Yet I hadn't been in one, thus it's easy to doubt. "Why are you telling me this? It's not as if I can do anything."
She glared at me, her cheeks reddening as she spoke, "Well, it's not like I had a choice. You asked the question and you were the only person-"
"You did have a choice, you could have waited, it was probably just one of the wolves."
Disinterested in the matter, I waved before leaving the room. Pulling my sleeves up as I exited the castle, I whistled for my dragon. He arrived a few minutes after, I smiled and patted his feathery head. Felt like a bird, although he had no beak and instead a layer of sharp teeth replaced it. Instead of four feet, he had two wings and two legs with many talons. His way of flight reminded me of an angel, precisely why I loved being an air elemental.
As I hopped on, I gripped his neck, thinking to myself how it would be wise to get a rope to hold on to. He tested his strength before sprinting and flapping his wings in a repeated fashion before finally lifting off the ground. He cawed, much like a crow and took me to my kingdom. I gazed down at the scenery, before spotting a silhouette following beside. Too small to see from this height, I edged my dragon down further. He hesitated but did so, I squinted and spotted it once more. It's shape was like one of a wolves. I smiled, shaking my head, I had gotten worried over nothing. Roaring my dragon flew back up, startling me as I attempted to find my grip. I shouted in despair as my body slid to the side, hanging onto his legs I closed my eyes tight. As he flew further away from the wolf, it began to howl. The sound was terrifying, a lot more different than what he used to hear. There was something wrong with that one, not only that, but why was it alone? Wolves never travelled alone here, they were always in a pack. Rogue's didn't exist from I knew of.
"Thanks for that, I could've died," I said bitterly as my dragon placed me back on the balcony. He growled in return, before leaving me once more. Strange. Today was definitely a day to remember. The only thing I have to figure out is if that is good or bad.
Could Nya be right?
