"Yes, I understand." I grimaced, attempting to hush the girls as they explained - ranted - about their situations. "But you should already understand, it's the Darkness King's doing. We've been training for this practically our whole lives."

"Are you serious?" Nya looked ready to set me aflame as her fingernails dug further and further into the frozen cloud. That was going to leave a mark. I found Cloud himself eying the table and it's brand new scratch. "Octavia just told me about--"

"Yes, I know, I know. She fought a wolf, congratulations. But you shouldn't be so caught up in something so--" I paused as I noticed Octavia's expression, "Unworthy of your attention."

Yes, that sounded much better. Yet there was no other way to put my words without making it sound either strange, rude or obsessive. I found myself thinking over my mistakes (word-wise) instead of focusing on the conversation. Seeming to be listening, but not hearing. I had been doing that a lot lately. Was this a part of the plan? Was it the Darkness King's doing? I hadn't a clue anymore.

"--here and here," Cloud said. He was standing and half of his body was over the table as he pointed at random sections. When had this come into the conversation? I had missed a lot but felt too embarrassed to ask.

"What are you pointing at?" Nya laughed. "Is there a map there that I just can't see and you can? Please feel free to explain."

"I think this is a horrible idea, why can't we wait two more weeks?"

"I'm impatient, and besides, I'm also a rebel." Nya's lips curled as she ran her fingers along her dragon before stopping at the spine. Hushing the beast as it started to hiss, Nya hopped on as I did the same. This was so ridiculous. Whilst we were discussing what to do, Cloud had come up with the idea as to check out the Darkness King's castle. Or in his case, 'check out the other challenger'. The only thing I was afraid of was if he attempted to fight us before time was due. Would that do something bad? Even worse; make something bad happen to us.

Patting my own dragon on the gem atop its head, I hurried it forward. This was about the slowest creature here, yet could also be placed as one of the most dangerous. He contained different rocks all across his body, even a diamond piece on each knee and all the way down to his tail. Of which it formed the shape of a spear.

"Cloud, try to stay close to us."

He chuckled before his feathered dragon launched off the ground, keeping an eye from afar. This would be an interesting trip. Just myself and the girls. I was hoping Nya would scope the area further ahead so I had time with Octavia. Making that mistake with her . . . I wasn't willing to make another. Perhaps she had forgotten about it.

"Occo, Tave," I said. "My friend, how have you been lately? It's been such a great week. Especially when it was warm, going for a swim . . . Going for a quick ride and swim. And ride. Fun."

Clasping my hands together, I awaited a response. Almost falling off in the process. Yet of course, I received no reply. I was surprised my dragon even neared the pace of Nya's. Octavia hadn't brung her's as it belonged in the water. Glancing over at Nya with a befuddled expression, she merely sighed and shook her head. She clutched her dragon's sides harder and whispered into its ear. They rode ahead as I stared after in confusion. Attitude much? What's her problem? I supposed I would have to ask her later. What would I say to Octavia? It was obvious she was annoyed. Was it because of when I told her I was busy? Because I really was.

"Tave-ey, come on."

"Are you bi-polar or something? One minute you're serious, next you're . . . you're this." She spoke as if I were the last person she'd speak to. It was quite insulting, even hurtful. What was 'this' supposed to mean? Rolling my eyes, I chose to ignore it. "Besides, we're almost there. Wouldn't want to interrupt such a busy schedule."

I gritted my teeth. Passive aggressive? I wouldn't pick her as the type. "Whatever you say, Octavia."

Although, as we reached the castle, all but one thought had ceased; we were up against that? It was the largest of all four castles populating the lighter areas of this world. Smoke evoked from it's black columns and walls as well as the obsidian at our feet.

The Darkness King brought the word 'scary' to a whole new level.
