"So, what you're saying is that they took Raven's power and what, they weaponized it?" Dad asked Logan as I rolled my eyes behind his head, causing a smirk to pull at the corner of Logan's mouth.
"Yep." Logan confirmed with a nod of his head.
"I mean, she is unique." Hank stated.
"Yeah, she is, Hank." Dad nodded along with Hank's statement, looking as if he was deep in thought.
"In the beginning the Sentinels were just targeting mutants." Logan began to explain as I sat up straight from my position on the stairs, interested in what the future is like. "Then they began to identify the genetics in non-mutants who'd eventually have mutant children or grandchildren, and they started targeting everyone. Many of the humans tried to help us, it was a slaughter... leaving only the worst of humanity in charge. I've been in a lot of wars, I've never seen anything like this. And it all starts with her"
"Well, let's just say that for the sake of...the sake that I choose to believe you, that I choose to help you, Raven won't listen to me. No, her heart and soul belongs to someone else now." Father bitterly answered, resentment and rejection clouding his words.
'Yeah, well now you know how I feel with your rejection to me' I bitterly thought to myself.
"I know. That's why we're gonna need Magneto too." Logan gave out his answer as if he was expecting this.
"Erik?" Hank questioned with a hint of disbelief in his tone as my father began to laugh. "You do know where he is?"
"Yeah." Logan stated obviously, which just caused my father to laugh harder as he started to walk out of the room.
"He's where he belongs." Dad said immediately sobering up as he turned back around to face Logan.
"That's it, you're just gonna walk out?" Logan asked in disbelief.
"Ooh, top marks. Like I said, you are perceptive." Father cockily answered Logan, as if to patronize him.
"The Professor I know would never turn his back on someone who lost their path, especially someone he loved." Logan exclaimed as if to try and snap some sense into him.
"Dad, would you just listen to him!" I finally snapped tiredly at him, as I grew fed up with his attitude that was causing a growing headache and my eyes to grow ablaze with the red of my mutation. Hank, who was still sat next to me, began to rub soothing circles on my back as if to calm me down and I lent my head back on his shoulder.
"You know, I think I do remember you now." Father answered thoughtfully before he began to grow angry. "Yeah, we came to you a long time ago seeking your help. And I'm gonna say to you what you said to us then. Piss Off!"
This seem to be the last straw for Logan's patience as he angrily walked up to my father and grabbed him threateningly, which caused me to stand up from where I sat, ready to step in if it went too far.
