It was a dark and stormy night.

There was not another soul in sight.

When Severus and yourself find,

Something not for the faintest of mind...

Oh how was this not foreseen?

It is, after all, the night of Hallowe'en.

It is seven o'clock and you are just arriving at the shop Dervish and Banges in Hogsmeade. Why were you here instead of preparing for breakfast in the Great Hall? It is because during the early hours of the morning, you were awoken by the sound of a house elf repeatedly saying your name. Once awake, they gave you a letter marked urgent before disappearing back to the school kitchens. Groggily, you unfolded the letter and began to make sense of what was happening.

Dear (y/n),

I am truly sorry for having to ask this of you. But I am running out of time. Today, I must receive an item of mine collected from Dervish and Banges. It needs to be in my possession as soon as possible, given that I have been made aware of others who appear to be after it. However, I believe these wizards and witches to be following my whereabouts. Thus, it will be extremely hard for me to go and collect the item quietly.

This is where I require your help. I need you to go and collect the item for me. The shop opens at seven and is usually quite busy, meaning that it will take longer to retrieve the item and more likely that you will be spotted by them. So, it is of great significance that you arrive at the shop as soon as it opens, collect the item and then return to Hogwarts immediately. I would ask another one of the professors who have not been teaching night lessons. Yet, you are the only one here that has also got an item of your own in their collection currently being fixed. So, you can use that item as your cover whilst you pass on this note to the keeper.

I assure you that you will not be asked any questions by the shop owner, but I cannot guarantee your safety. I wish there were another way, but you are my only hope.

Good luck

Albus Dumbledore

And here you are, inside this intriguing shop. As you walk over to the counter, the shop keeper immediately notices your presence, putting a set of keys down before striding over to you with a smile upon his face. "Good morning! How may I help you today Miss (y/l/n)?" Although the shop is empty, there are no guarantees that the place has not been bugged. Hence, you explain how you left an item of yours here and would like to check its progress, whilst passing Dumbledore's letter to him under the disguise that it has your item's reference number on it. Without blowing your cover, he simply nods before saying he will retrieve your item for you.

As he walks away, you hear the bell above the door chime, warning you that you are no longer alone. Without turning around, you use a mirror on the wall to see who has entered. Ah, two shifty looking witches. Great! If this item is of such great importance, why did Dumbledore send you alone? You ponder as you think of what your next move will be. To cast a defensive spell and run? Or to attack when the shop owner returns. However, before you can even make your first move, you hear the screams of someone outside the shop. Then, you hear the shouts of the shifty witches behind you and, without warning, you are catapulted across the room, hitting the cold hard floor and losing consciousness in an instance. Little did you know that the spell which struck you was no ordinary spell. It was a curse. A curse which creates nightmare-ish hallucinations, trapping the victim in a deep, sometimes deathly, slumber...
