"Great workout today Ben," his trainer said as Ben dropped the ropes that he had been pulling for his bicep workout.
"Thanks," he said.
"So what are your plans for the day?"
Ben spared his trainer a look before he wiped the sweat off of his face.
"Game tonight with Jada."
Since the playoffs were in full swing he and Sean along with Devon, his best friend since their childhood, had rented out an apartment in Cleveland so that he would be able to work alongside his long-term mentor LeBron James to get him in NBA shape.
"How is she liking Cleveland," Sean asked with amusement evident in his tone. Everyone who knew Jada knew that she hated all things LeBron James and didn't have any problems with telling his fans that.
"She hates it, but she's here for me," Ben chuckled.
"I can only imagine the things she's been saying. Has she met LeBron yet?"
Ben shook his head no.
"You know that she's loyal to the Lakers man."
"I don't understand her beef with LeBron though."
"Ask her when we get back to the apartment," Ben said grabbing his things.
"Oh I can't wait for this," Devon said rubbing his hands together.
"Just don't say anything stupid like you normally do. I don't really want to hear Jada have a BF today."
"I wouldn't really worry about that," Ben said sadly.
"Why's that," Sean and Devon asked together.
"She's still upset about Scott."
"He's must have a serious stroke game because I don't see it," Devon said causing Ben to spit out the last bit of his water.
"I mean I can kind of understand it," Sean said. "He was her first real love."
"Can we not talk about this," Ben asked feeling himself getting annoyed.
"Yea. Let's get back to the apartment."

Jada sat on the couch in one of Ben's hoodies and a pair of yoga pants as she waited for her chicken wings to finish cooking. Although she was happy to be here with Ben, she couldn't put aside her feelings of pain from the bomb that Scott had dropped on her. Had she really been that blind to his antics? How long had he been unfaithful to her and why was he hell-bent on making sure that he made her life miserable now? The sound of the doorknob turning caused Jada to wipe her face as Ben stepped inside first.
"What smells so good?"
"My chicken wings."
"So what are we supposed to eat?"
"Find something," she shrugged as she stood up to take them out of the oven. Before she could think about what was happening, Ben walked up behind her and snatched a wing off the plate and she smacked his arm as he ran out of the kitchen.
"I hate you," she said as she sat back down on the sofa and offered Sean and Devon some.
"I love you though," Ben said as he kissed her forehead.
She dipped her wing in the ranch that she had poured on her plate and groaned as the guys started getting greedy with her food.
"What am I supposed to eat? I'm hungry too ya know?"
