The long promised update is finally here ! I didn't like what I initially started with and then got sidetracked with family emergency after emergency. Everyone is well and now I'm able to get back to my writing. Hope you enjoy!

When Ben woke up the next morning he was on cloud nine. Jada and him had spent the rest of the evening talking about what they were going to do after that kiss happened. Both had made the agreement to take it slow. Turning over he smiled as he kissed Jada's forehead.

"Good morning."

"Morning," she smiled as she stretched. "Today is the big day are you ready?"

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be," he said brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"If you're not number one then the NBA is full of fools."

He smiled softly before kissing her head and getting out of bed.

"What's first on the agenda," he asked her.

"Well the girls are going to get their nails done. Then a little shopping before we go to lunch."

"Cliff notes J," he chuckled.

"Fine," she said with a playful eye roll.

"I'm glad that you're here."

"Me too. It's been amazing watching you grow into this man who can take on the world."

"I've had great people around me," he said biting down on his bottom lip.

"I bet," she said walking to the bathroom to get her day started.

"In a few hours you'll be number one draft pick Ben Simmons," Carter said patting Ben on his back.

Ben smiled up at the man that would one day be his brother in law. He wanted to get a small crew together to go out for a few hours of normalcy. After tonight nothing was going to be the same and he wanted to remember these moments and people for the rest of his life.

"What are you going to do if he gets drafted to Philly?"

The girls were out for their midday lunch and talking about potential places that Ben could end up. Jada's mind however was far from the draft. Her mother had been looking at her phone as if she was waiting on a phone call for hours now and something didn't sit right with her. She made a mental note to pull her to the side and ask her later on before the nights festivities got the best of her.

"I'll fly out for a few games but my job here is done," she said easing her way back into the conversation.

Liv leaned over to hug her and kissed her cheek.

"I'm so glad he had you with him. He wouldn't admit it but he was slightly nervous."

"Yeah we both know that."

Out the corner of her eye she saw her mom let out a breath and stand up to answer the phone. She got up with her and walked of the restaurant to see her mom smiling into the phone.

"Your daughter says hey too. We'll see you tonight. Love you too."

"Feel better now?"

"I wasn't worried about him," her mother waved her off.

"Sure Jan," she said bumping hips with her.

"Fine I was a little concerned but he said he's OK and planning on making it just in time to hear Ben's name called."

"Can't wait to see him."

Tonight's events were going to be life changing but no one was truly prepared for what the night would bring.
