5-Disaster

Jada wrapped her hair in a towel once she stepped out of the shower. She was thankful to finally wash off the events that had taken place nearly a day before. A soft knock on the door took her out of the black hole she was trying to avoid.

"I'm almost finished," she said.

When she opened the door, Ben was standing on the other end.

"You have a phone call."

From the tone of his voice she had an idea of who was calling.

"Tell Scott that I don't want to talk to him."

"Ok."

As he turned to walk away, she stopped him and asked for her phone. She had a few things to get off her chest concerning Scott.

"Hello?"

"What in the hell do you want?"

"I'm sorry."

Jada let out an evil chuckle.

"Funny how that works huh?"

Scott sighed loudly on his end of the phone & Jada rolled her eyes. She didn't have time for this today.

"What's the matter Scott? Was I supposed to walk around depressed forever? You clearly thought that she was a better choice than me so have fun with your little fuck buddy."

"You aren't even going to fight for us?"

Jada had to pull the phone away from her ear to make sure that Scott was talking to her because he clearly had her fucked up.

"Fight for what Scott! We have nothing left because you burned that shit to the ground, not me. All those nights that you had something else to do you were probably out doing her, weren't you?"

There was a pause on the line, but she didn't allow him to talk.

"You have broken me. Do you understand that? I'm not fighting for you because you have given me no reason to fight for you. I've given you everything that I have but it wasn't good enough for you but now when I've completely washed my hands with you, you coming running back. That's not how this works."

"So these last four years have meant nothing to you?"

"They obviously meant nothing to you."

"When did you become this person J?"

Jada took a long and ragged breath.

"Goodbye Scott."

She hung up the phone and looked at herself in the mirror. She was incredibly proud of the way she'd handled herself. All of a sudden she felt like all her energy had vanished and right before she fell, she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist.

"I take it the conversation didn't go so well?"

She looked up at Ben and allowed herself to relax in his arms.

"The conversation went better than expected actually."

"Want to go get some food?"

"I honestly just want to sleep."

"Understandable," he said nodding his head.

"Can you sleep with me? I really don't want to be alone."

"Uh yea sure why not?"

Jada stepped out of the bathroom and walked to Ben's room so she could change into her night clothes. Ben came into the room a few minutes later to find Jada in bed already knocked out. He slid into his side of the bed and turned on the TV because he wasn't able to fall asleep just yet.

Ben looked to his side as he felt Jada shift and smiled slightly. She started inching closer to him and he wrapped his arms around her and felt her relax into him. As he looked down at his best friend, he could still see the anguish that was on her face, but he could also see her true beauty. Jada's hair was spread out around them both creating their own solitude in the bed. Her eyelashes started to cast a soft shadow against her high checkboxes, and the little bit of light that was coming through the room showed of her smooth caramel skin.

"Scott's an idiot for letting you go," Ben said softly playing in her hair. "I would never do what he did to you J-Lo."

She once again stirred in her sleep and Ben softly kissed her forehead before he subconsciously pulled Jada closer to him and closing his eyes.

"Yes daddy I'm doing better," Jada said into the phone as she toasted more blueberry bagels for herself and the guys.

"You had us worried sick about you. If you ever pull something like this again, I'll kill you," he joked.

Jada laughed and checked on bacon that she'd placed in the frying pan a few minutes ago.

"I promise that I won't fall off the face of the earth again. I'm officially over and done with Scott."

"Good because I thought I was going to have to break a few of his bones to help him get the message."

"Please dad do that. He's really not worth it."

"You're right about that but it would've been nice to have Rome light his ass up once or twice."

"How is my little knuckle head doing while he's house sitting for me," she asked her father.

"From what I see, he's doing pretty good. But he's also your little brother so I'll let you give him the fifth degree on that when you get a chance."

Jada heard the boys starting to wake up and told her dad that she would talk to him later.

"Good morning guys," she announced as they all made their entrance.

The guys looked at all the food and felt their mouths water.

"It's so good to have you back," Sean said as he grabbed himself a plate and decided what he wanted to eat first.

Jada had fixed blueberry bagels, bacon, omelets, hash browns, and chocolate chip pancakes.

"I just wanted to thank you guys for putting up with me and all my Scott drama."

"Where is this going are you getting back with him," Ben asked as he eyed Jada through the corner of his eye as he picked up a bagel.

"No I'm not getting back with him, but I'm aware of the hell that I put you guys through and this is my apology breakfast."

"We forgive if you keep this coming," Devon spoke with a full mouth.

Jada rolled her eyes before she walked over to Ben and touched his face.

"Thank you," she spoke to him before leaning on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly.

"I got you forever, J-Lo."

"I know," she said smiling.

The doorbell chimed and everyone looked at the door because they were not expecting anyone.

"I'll get it," Jada said as she released Ben from the hug.

When she opened the door, her smile fell and she felt her blood start to boil.

"What in the hell are you doing here," she asked as Scott smiled down at her with flowers in his hand.
