On with the story~
************************************
"Wow, Misty," said Erza, "I can't believe that you were a, um..."
"A mage?" She said, her head looking down in shame. She tried her best not to cry as she explained her story. She wasn't going to let anyone but (y/n) see her cry.
She wasn't going to give them that privilege.
Misty couldn't even bring herself to look at the man in front of her. It was hard for her to believe the he was even alive, much less talking and moving and walking. He was foreign to her, an older chapter of her life. She had read on, but she had still cut out a piece of his page and put it in her heart.
Her breath hitched in her throat as she gathered the courage to raise her head. The more she gathered, the more her head morphed from a block of steel to a series of bones covered with flesh, containing a brain -- as all heads should.
She finally rested her eyes on him, fully grasping onto the concept that he was Max.
It was Max, Max.
The Max who was her older brother. The Max who saved her life. The Max who was her best friend from the day she was born. The Max who was a third parent. That Max. And now he was here in front-
"I don't get it," said Natsu, interrupting Misty's thoughts, "If you were a human, then how come you're a cat now?"
"Like I said," explained Misty, "my village was attacked by a dark guild when I was little. Max and I ran into the forest when one of the wizards followed us and killed me. Because my soul didn't leave my body and go...wherever souls go right after death, he bound my soul into a nearby egg, which just so happened to be that of an exceed's."
"Oh.." He said, the cobwebs ripping to shreds as the gears in his brain turned. Scratch that, his slow brain was finally working. Misty rolled her eyes at him.
"She is indeed correct," said a voice. All eyes, even Misty's, shifted over to the foreigner in the room, for he was the source of the voice, "That's what I have done. But that's not why I'm here."
"Why are you here?" Asked Lucy."I am here to warn everyone," he said, "especially you, Misty. Someone's after you, Misty. They're going to use your magic to get rid of you."
There was a long moment of tense silence, shock rippled across the room. Everyone had reacted a different way, several emotions present in the the room.
For (y/n) and Natsu, it was protective anger. They weren't going to let some random prick take Misty away. They were going to beat up anyone that decided to do so. Whether it be a demon the size of Magnolia, or a spider, (lol I'd be scared shitless either way) they were going to make sure that no one got their hands on their friends.
For Gray and Erza, it was pure shock. There were so many secrets being revealed, first the whole thing with (y/n) being a dragon slayer, and now Misty's actually a human who was more or less reincarnated into a cat's body. And to top it all off, the very person who performed said procedure is in front of them now, telling them that there was more danger to come. It was a lot to take in, in such a short time. What's even more is that the very vacation that they were doing to get away from all of the stress is now a stress-filled event. The stress somehow managed to find them.
