A Walk with Chigo

Everyday was amazing with Chigo. He had his own place at home and he started growing bigger and bigger. He never bit anyone, and we'd take him to the private veterinarian who'd visit us at home.

Six more days until my birthday. Today, I show Chigo off and walk with him.

   "Come, boy. Let's go!"

He was on a leash. He was just behind me. I could see children playing, policemen roaming around and bystanders walking. I was excited showing them my pet. Which is a panda.

"Sven! Chuck!" a little boy said. "She has a panda for a pet!"

"Christopher," the little girl said. "I want a panda! Let's call papa!"

They left and rushed to their homes. It felt amazing. I felt like the only kid with a pet panda.

Nearby were three policemen talking. I walked past them and showed off Chigo. I knew they'd be surprised. And I'd look really cool.

"Hm," the policeman said. "A panda. Wait, there's a panda?!"

Even a policeman would be happy seeing a panda. Like a kid.

"Little girl," the policeman said. "What's your name?"

   "Kelli Dawn," I answered.

"That panda has to be with us. May we talk to your parents?"

I felt less amazing. I felt scared. This wasn't good.

   "Why?!" I said.

"Those species are endangered. How did you even get one? Those are no where to find!"

He grabbed Chigo's leash but I stopped him.

"But sir, you can't just grab him. He's owned already. We bought him in Seren Herbs Shop!"

"And, what? Give me that panda!"

He grabbed Chigo harder while he grabbed mine too. I couldn't loose him, I had to let him go free. I used my other arm and removed his leash.

Wait, I thought. This is a really bad idea.

He ran across the street and and a big truck blocked my way.

   I heard his cry.

I couldn't see him anymore. I doubted he was still there. But no. He has to be.
